Role Description:

Working as a member of the FX Algorithmic Trading Technology team, the position will be responsible for a continuous cycle of development for the FICC business - requirements gathering, application development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
Example deliverables will include pricing models, execution and market making algorithms, risk management systems, market data collection, analytics, profiling and the infrastructure required to foster a low latency, agile environment. These deliverables will be a blend of new Greenfield development, and modifications to the existing trading infrastructure. Some third level support of the overall system is also required.
The position involves working with quantitative traders - and hence demands a high level of comfort with the invariably fast paced, high pressure environment associated with trading floors.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop and test applications, working with the trading team to implement automated trading strategies and execution algorithms.
Development and enhancement of the trading infrastructure - e.g. proof of concept hardware and software research, Linux tweaking, improvements to software backbone.
Third level support
Documentation of software and hardware design
Handover of completed product to first and second level support

The Team:

The successful candidate will be joining the Fixed Income Currencies and Commodities technology team, which has a proven track record of delivering critical low-latency front-office pricing/trading solutions to the FICC businesses. The candidate will be based in London working in the eFX technology team, helping to analyze, design, build and deploy multi-tier, high availability systems globally deployed systems. The current team structure is global, spread over London, Singapore and the US. As a group, we communicate at all levels within the organization.

Core Skills:

Business Exposure / Knowledge
Ideally is working in a front office capacity at either a buy or sell side firm, preferably with an exposure to both. Should have some product knowledge, preferably FICC based. Should be a self starter and capable of working on complex time critical tasks either individually or as part of a team. Ideally will have had prior experience dealing with market data as a minimum.
Must have: KDB+ (Q / K), Linux
Nice to have (any of): C, C++, Python, Shell Scripting, Linux tweaking knowledge, distributed systems
Education: Degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or similarly appropriate discipline.
