The Role : You will create compelling, market-relevant content including analysis/features, breaking news and digital media focused on the EU ETS compliance market, on voluntary carbon markets and on wider climate-related news. You are a confident, articulate team player who will work closely with SPGCI's pricing and analytics teams. You can shed light on complex topics through clean, compelling writing and great visualisation.

The Impact: Maintain S&P Global Commodity Insights' high journalistic standards, practices and policies and ensure editorial quality in line with our content transformation strategy and editorial focus on environmental markets.

The Career Opportunity : This is an opportunity to join a talented, growing news team focused on commodity markets. You will develop quickly into a subject matter expert versed in a crucial energy transition storyline.

The Team / The Business : The EMEA energy news team works closely together in what can be a fast-paced environment. You'll work with reporters and editors on oil, gas and power desks, pivoting in response to breaking news that requires carbon market context.

Your Skills : Relevant experience in climate or commodity news reporting. Strong English language editing, writing and reporting skills. Data analysis capabilities. Highly motivated, productive team player able to adapt to a fast-evolving daily slate of stories. European languages a plus.

Responsibilities

•Develop Carbon Market Content
As a writer and editor, you will ensure that carbon news from the European desk is timely, unique and relevant. You will be responsible for creating content and presenting it in a way that has maximum impact. You will monitor news flow from competitors, prioritize daily content and help conduct forward planning of event and story coverage.

• Content Presentation
You will be required to think innovatively on how best to present the content to make it impactful and reader friendly. This could involve the use of infographics, maps, charts, tables etc.

• Content Generation
You will be required to collaborate with regional colleagues, market reporters and other members of the energy news team to generate and drive content. This could be in the form of further analysis of developing news and/or writing features.
• Market engagement
You would be expected to develop and maintain productive relationships with a broad base of key industry sources.
