Main Position Functions:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, ideally in finance
Experience:
- Provide operational support to execution and portfolio managers
- Act as escalation point between prime brokers and outsourced groups to ensure that all trade discrepancies are kept to a minimum and any breaks are resolved in a timely manner
- Ensure the flow of information is accurately and efficiently communicated within the Operations Group, and to other relevant groups and external companies
- Evaluate data and provide ideas to the COO office to work toward improving and enhancing productivity and development
- Expand upon knowledge of products and technology for personal development and growth within the Operations Group
- Experience or understanding of Repo execution and FX for treasury purposes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A basic understanding of Hedge Fund operational activities advantageous, with the ability to self-develop and remain aware of happenings within the industry
- Basic knowledge of firm products and trade processes, specifically those relating to interest rates, credit swaps, structured products, futures, options, bonds, FX and repos
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- The ability to communicate effectively and build relationships within the department and across the firm
- Strong work ethic
- Detailed oriented
- Can produce a high quality product with attention to detail and self-review
- Proactive in nature, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and manage time efficiently
- Must be flexible in order to adapt to an often stressful and changing work environment
- Proficient in Windows, Microsoft office programs, as well as a basic understanding of other relevant programs and software
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, ideally in finance
Experience:
- 1-5 years' experience in financial services (Preferably prime brokerage)
- Experience working with fixed income
- Experience with swap instruments and bond settlements.
