The Trade Client Manager (TCM) manages the Trade relationship across a portfolio of large Investment Grade clients domiciled in the Europe Middle East and Africa("EMEA") region. This client facing and revenue-generating role is tasked with expanding Citi's Trade relationship and supporting our clients' trade finance and working capital needs. The client portfolio will consist of Technology Media and Telecom ("TMT") clients and will be a senior position within the broader TMT team

Successful candidates will have an opportunity to:
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and be the senior client contact within a subsector in the designated Industrials subsector
  • Lead client discussions with Treasury and Procurement leadership from some of the world's largest companies
  • Build a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of trade finance and working capital solutions to pitch Trade solutions to clients in the portfolio
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the client's needs and their trade flows related to both exports and imports in the subsector being managed
  • Become a trusted advisor for clients covering Trade products
  • Identify opportunities and pitch Trade solutions to your portfolio of clients to originate new deals to deliver incremental growth with other team members
  • Work in a dynamic and impactful environment
Responsibilities:
  • Hold regular and periodic client discussions
  • Mentor new joiners
  • Draft subsector thought leadership materials for the subsector being managed and develop strategies to grow trade revenues within the client portfolio.
  • Client advisory on how to mitigate risk and address working capital needs through the application of Citi solutions
  • Identify opportunities to originate and structure bespoke receivable financing arrangements, including portfolio or insurance based solutions in partnership with the product structuring team
  • Create and execute client plans in close partnership with Product, Trade Sales and Global Solution Sales within TTS, as well as Coverage / Banking Relationship team
  • Manage deals through the entire trade life cycle, including managing credit lines and maintaining liquidity in the assigned trade portfolio through distribution
  • Coordinate oversight with with Operations and Client Service to resolve client daily queries of an operational or service nature for live transactions and ensure the best-in-class client experience
  • Drive the implementation process for client expansion or new facilities together with the assigned implementation manager
  • Coordinate with legal and risk to negotiate legal agreements for new deal or for existent deals that require changes
  • Ensure a pristine risk and control environment for credit facilities, which include but not limited to obtaining the required approvals, drafting memorandums and presenting deals on the Global Deal Review Committee
  • Formulate with stakeholders go to market strategies for new product initiatives
  • Execute against applicable Citi Product programs and local country requirements in the countries where structured Trade transactions are occurring
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Business travel will be required for this role (25% of total work time)
Qualifications:
  • Prior knowledge of Trade products, including Guarantees, Letters of Credit, Receivables Financing, Trade Loans, and Supply Chain Finance
  • Experience in Relationship / client management
  • Risk and Credit Expertise
Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
