Technical Accountant - Fully Qualified

Job description

To support a business critical IFRS17 Project. Maintaining and providing financial information to support the production of statutory accounts, regulatory returns or MI systems and to support the delivery of technical change projects within Finance where required.

As a Technical Accountant you will be responsible for:

• Development and application of controls and/ or reconciliations.
• General ledger posting / management.
• Reference data management.
• Interrogation of financial results/ ledger postings - ability to get fully involved and dig into understanding numbers/ comparatives.
• Group consolidation/ reporting.
• Process improvement, using Excel VBA, Power BI, etc.

What we require from the candidate:

Essential:

• A fully qualified accountant with PQE.
• General Financial Control experience within Consolidation or Sub-Ledger Reconciliations, Account Ownership, Legal Entity Control or Statutory Accounting.
• Financial Services Industry experience.
• Life insurance experience or financial reporting experience

Desirable:

• Systems experience - General Ledger Migrations & Implementations, Finance Systems Upgrades.
• Knowledge of Oracle systems.
• Experience of IFRS17.
