The Role: S&P Global Commodity Insights is looking for a senior analyst to drive forward its long-term European natural gas analytics, delivered under their market-leading Integrated Energy/Scenario product line. This exciting role will be pivotal in producing the view on European natural gas supply, demand, trade and price forecasts and their interaction with other commodities (electricity, hydrogen, biomethane, etc.). The role will require writing forward looking market commentary as well as developing analytical tools, research, and models. The role will be responsible for aligning views across the wider organization into the Global Integrated Energy Model and other modelling platforms.

The Team: You will be part of the Integrated Energy/Scenario team which comprises international specialists with outstanding knowledge across the entire energy sector. This team is unique in its focus on an integrated view across all commodities in the energy sector.

The Impact: Platts Analytics is a global team responsible for analyzing, interpreting and forecasting all global energy commodities markets and prices. Our customers represent a wide range of activities across the energy industry and, as a result, our analysis is reviewed and challenged from many different perspectives. You will play a key role in supporting Platts Analytics' services and could also play a role in developing these services into major new growth areas.

You will be a key though leader in Platts Analytics' Integrated Energy/Scenario Analytics service and the development a wider, integrated, cross commodity global analysis offering across the organization. This is a rapidly expanding part of the business with exposure into energy transition analysis. In addition, there will be ample opportunity to contribute to an established global brand and to take part in customer-facing activities, including webinars, conference presentations, and client briefings.

Responsibilities:

Be an expert
Study all factors that contribute context to the current and future value of European natural gas. Spot and identify emerging trends early and, where possible, anticipate market movements. Constantly update knowledge of evolving markets, including price movements, trade-flows, trading behavior and regulatory developments that impact energy markets.

Communicate expertise
Engage with clients, market experts and prospects, demonstrating expertise and acting as ambassador for Commodity Insights' pursuit of analytical excellence. Communicate expertise through the creation of compelling, "must-have" content that leverages the company's data, pricing, and insights. Deliver succinct, high-quality and accurate written content. Create charts and other visually valuable content that illustrates the trends clients need to follow. Articulate expertise and thought-leadership through a variety of media including but not limited to podcasts, video webinars, TV, conference and forum speaking

Knowledge & Skills:
Proven and demonstrable experience in analyzing European natural gas and other energy markets. This is likely to have come from a trading, commercial, consulting, price forecasting or reporting environment. Ability to tackle problems and take independent action. Excellent communication skills, including concise written style and good verbal/public speaking skills. Strong Excel skills are required. Experience with SQL, Python, Matlab, VBA, SAS, or cube data structure are useful.
