Job Description
Morgan McKinley is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a Big Four consultancy firm in their Tax & Legal practice.

A fast-growing Tax and Legal practice within a Big 4 firm are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager. This role is primarily focused on helping to achieve an ambitious growth plan through leading the execution of sales and campaign activity in the market, and the ideal candidate will have some experience of selling tax services. Your responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Driving market focused activity to strengthen client relationships and deliver excellent client service across the sales cycle
  • Develop a broad understanding of Tax and Legal's key client issues and propositions
  • Develop and execute an origination strategy for a specific business area to and work alongside the leadership team to qualify and prioritise market activity
  • Expanding stakeholder relationships on existing client accounts by mapping key contacts across the business and helping to generate meetings with unknown contacts
  • Working alongside the existing client service teams to nurture and grow relationships on high potential accounts, and identify most appropriate successors to lead accounts once relationships are established
  • Working with client service teams to increase the number of services we provide to existing clients
  • Build a network across all Tax and Legal service lines and leverage a broad range of experts to ensure clients receive the best possible service for their individual requirements
  • Help to open up new relationships with businesses that are cold to the business
  • Lead the activation of campaigns in the market, including helping to refine messaging and identify gaps in service offerings based on clients' feedback and requirements
  • Maintaining a good understanding of relevant content and market activity and leverage insights to spot new opportunities
  • Helping to identify opportunities for Tax and Legal to collaborate with the firm's other capabilities, Deal Advisory and Consulting, and help to drive and integrated approach in the market

Skills and experience required includes:
  • An understanding of tax (any specialism)
  • Ability to manage a large portfolio of client relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A commercial outlook with a focus on results
  • Strong influencer, including senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Good facilitation skills for client calls and meetings
  • Team player with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to coach and develop others
