Job Description
Morgan Mckinley is looking for a Senior Editorial Manager to join an exciting global Regulatory Technology company headquartered in London.

As a Senior Editorial Manager, you will be responsible for managing all content across the website and beyond. You will need to understand the landscape for regulatory compliance and create a content strategy/calendar that shows the company to be a thought leader in the market, as well as content that boosts SEO. Working alongside the Editorial Marketing Lead, you will create content in various mediums - from long-read articles to industry data reports.

Key responsibilities

As Senior Editorial Manager, you are the gatekeeper for all content produced or marketed. You will need to have your finger on the pulse of regulatory compliance and associated trends and feel comfortable creating a content plan that aligns the companies product, marketing campaigns and the wider industry.

Your responsibilities will include, but might not be limited to:
  • Creating a content approach and strategy for the coming year (including reports, thought leadership articles, timely blogs, SEO-based pieces)
  • Managing, proofing and maintaining website content
  • Maintaining the tone of voice and style of the company across all content and communications
  • Managing and maintaining the CMS (WordPress) to ensure efficiency, flag errors and ensure SEO best practice
  • Writing or outsourcing content to boost SEO rankings across all search
  • Creating a weekly newsletter to be sent to around 3,000 subscribers
  • Working with the digital marketing team to create relevant and successful ads and ad copy
  • Working alongside the Editorial Marketing lead to write/edit/proof timely news pieces and articles to be published on the website
  • Carrying out research to understand and keep on top of the emerging environment of regulation and technology
  • Ghost-writing content for media - liaising with C-level to approve sign off
  • Acting as a regulatory SME for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Signing off on content for social media/PR
  • Writing thought leadership articles about emerging regulation
  • Managing a group of freelance writers/analysts to ensure content is being written to deadlines (and managing those relationships)
  • Helping to identify content in need of updating or develop content (written or other) that will appeal to the target audience
  • Analysing the success of all content to inform future approaches (predominantly though Google Analytics)
  • Orchestrating and hosting webinars/podcasts/interviews with external industry experts
  • Working across teams and with your own network to understand the customer point of view
  • Managing budget for content


Skills

The successful candidate will be have the following skills and experience:
  • 5 years'+ experience as a content writer/manager within RegTech, compliance or financial institution
  • An understanding of RegTech, Regulatory Compliance, emerging trends in financial services and the associated challenges
  • Familiar with WordPress/Google Analytics/Microsoft Office
  • An understanding of marketing techniques and best practices and demonstrable experience of creating and implementing a marketing content strategy - leading to success (SEO-boost, increased leads etc)
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills: you enjoy writing and are a stickler for correct grammar and punctuation
  • The ability to work to deadlines and write content with quick turnaround times
  • Proven experience of managing a team of content writers
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team
  • A creative approach to content: you're not afraid to try new things and present new ideas
  • A keen eye for detail: you notice inconsistencies and anomalies
  • Calm under pressure: you remain focussed and level-headed when faced with multiple deadlines or changes
  • An understanding of research methods
  • Thea ability to quickly understand product offerings and their benefits to inform content
  • The ability to pick salient points out of large volumes of text and summarise them
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/WordPress/Google Analytics
  • You are receptive to feedback and alterations and share a constructive approach with your team
