Intermediary Oversight Analyst, State Street Global Advisors, AVP

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) is the investment management arm of State Street Corporation, one of the world's leading providers of financial services to institutions.

SSGA's EMEA Institutional Client Group (ICG) is responsible for all institutional and intermediary client facing activities including new business development, relationship management, client service and client on-boarding.

In this role you will work within our ICG COO team. The COO team focus on (1) providing strategic business intelligence to senior management and driving sales effectiveness, (2) efficiencies in servicing clients and enhancing the client experience, (3) first line of defense supervisory controls and governance, (4) client contracting and (5) oversight of intermediaries. The ICG COO team works in close partnership with multiple stakeholders across all business units.

Role Summary
This role is a great opportunity for an individual who is confident with the ability to think quickly, be highly organised and is able to work under pressure whilst managing conflicting priorities and stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing day to day intermediary oversight activities for intermediaries who invest in SSGA funds domiciled in EMEA.

This is to be achieved through the 8 Pillar Intermediary Oversight Model (IOM) which consists of prospecting, set-up and onboarding, contract management, remuneration, financial crime, product information and target market. The intermediary oversight analyst will act as a central point and will engage with multiple teams including Client Relationship Managers, Compliance, AML/KYC, Operations, Legal, Funds Management.

The aim is to oversee all activities covered by the 8 pillar oversight model whilst sustaining a high quality client-centric approach and demonstrating strong risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and manage the onboarding of new intermediaries and changes to existing intermediaries
  • Oversee contract negotiations, assisting with queries and escalations as required
  • Manage and oversee the DDQ process
  • Lead fortnightly stakeholder working group which oversees IOM activities
  • Manage monthly reconciliation of finance data and record keeping for intermediaries
  • Produce quarterly Board reports on IOM activity
  • Manage annual Target Market process
  • Team mailbox and ad-hoc query management
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders and meet regularly to engage on ongoing items
  • Drive the delivery of a client-centric, relationship building approach to ensure service excellence
  • Actively participate in research initiatives or projects that are requested by the business related to the intermediary oversight process
  • Look for continuous improvements, enhancing procedures and implementing them

Experience and Skills
  • Strong investment management client servicing and/or onboarding skills and service philosophy required
  • Experience supporting Intermediary clients is highly desirable
  • Good knowledge of the different participants in the fund management business and their roles
  • 7+ years industry experience
  • Track record of managing, building and maintaining strong relationships with internal partners
  • Confident with excellent attention to detail, ability to manage multiple moving tasks, whilst ensuring accuracy and an all-round well organised individual
  • Strong control/risk mitigation mentality with the judgment to escalate when necessary
  • A demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills with both internal and external clients at all levels and regions
  • Ability to operate efficiently and effectively to tight deadlines and to prioritise own work
  • Confident is using PowerPoint and advanced Excel skills is an advantage
  • Strong team player
