Job Description:
This is a three working day week position. The Principal will directly report into the Ireland Site Lead for Risk and Compliance (also 'PCF 14' Chief Risk Officer ("CRO") for BNY Mellon Fund Services, Ireland ("FSI DAC"), with a matrix reporting line into the PCF 12 Chief Compliance Officer ("CCO") for FSI DAC. This is a dedicated role provided under the inter-affiliate 2LOD 'Risk and Compliance' ("RC") master service arrangements between FSI DAC and the BNYM Institutional Bank ("IB").
This role requires collaboration with key stakeholders in p roviding thought leadership to further develop harmonised risk governance frameworks that meet local regulatory expectations, whilst utilising the principles of the BNY Mellon's Group Risk Management Framework, and provide subject matter support on governance, risk and compliance ("GRC") related matters, including Cyber Security, Resiliency, Technology, and ESG (environment, social and governance) matters as they pertain to FSI DAC. The role will also be responsible for ensuring collaboration across the International Risk and Compliance organisation to ensure Legal Entity best practices are consistently applied and any lessons learned, thought leadership initiatives have a broader International reach where relevant.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Ireland Site Lead for Risk and Compliance in visualising, delivering and realising strategic initiatives and promoting synergies across International RC.
  • As required, provide 2LOD Risk and Compliance advice and guidance on new, including significant changes, to local regulatory requirements on Cyber Security, Resiliency, Technology, and ESG related matters that directly impact FSI DAC RC's policies and procedures.
  • As required, lead and participate in 2LOD deep dive reviews, alert potential risks and advise on risk mitigating measures to relevant stakeholders.
  • As required, contribute to change projects intended to improve FSI DAC RC frameworks.
  • Build and maintain effective relations across the three lines of defence.
  • Support cross-functional efforts to promote a strong risk culture throughout FSI DAC.
  • Work closely with BNYM International RC team and build partnerships.
  • With no direct reports, provide guidance to junior and less experienced team members and contribute to the achievement of RC objectives.
Competencies & Experience
  • Relevant and broad 2LOD risk and compliance experience across both financial and non-financial risk themes.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to gain confidence of stakeholders and challenge the status quo, as appropriate.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently, has initiative and self-motivated.
  • Good knowledge of risk management practices and regulatory environment in Ireland.
Required Qualifications
  • Academic degree in a related field.
  • 10 years or more of total work experience in related fields.
