Description of the Business Line or Department
The Fixed Income Financing desk is part of the Fixed Income Prime Brokerage offering and part of the larger Prime Services Clearing group.
The focus of the desk it to provide fixed income financing and short coverage solutions for the Fixed Income Prime Brokerage clients of SG primarily via Repo transactions.
The desk covers the EMEA and APAC activity for the clients of Societe Generale international Ltd and SG Americas.
Clients are primarily Hedge Funds, PTG's and investments managers who operate relative value rates trading strategies.
Summary of the key purposes of the role
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of a Prime fixed income Financing business from a Front Office Trading perspective.
They will have exposure to pricing mechanisms, risk management principles, supporting trade structures and hedging (stock loan structures, FX Swaps), scarce resource management, collateral management.
Primarily they will be tasked to maintain current, develop and create additional tools/programs using internal and external data/inputs that improve and bring efficiencies to the desks pricing computation, risk management, book monitoring and booking flows.
The role offers the correct person the opportunity to add significant value to the desks operations and franchise and in return gain an in-depth knowledge of the business and this sector of the market.

With Traders assistance you will be tasked to design and build and manage on desk trading tools including,
In addition, there will be opportunity to complete quantitative analysis in respect of market trading levels to identify influencing factors that can improve the profitability of the desk.

- Position Management
- Scarce resource monitoring
- Trade flow & booking
- Risk monitoring
- Limit monitoring
- P&L monitoring and projection
In addition, there will be opportunity to complete quantitative analysis in respect of market trading levels to identify influencing factors that can improve the profitability of the desk.
Competencies
- Advanced coding skills
- Significant experience with Python and libraries such as Pandas, Numpy.
- Familiarity with REST API integration.
- Ability to perform statistical analysis and econometric modelling (e.g. in SciPy) is a plus.
- Interest in Financial markets, particularly fixed Income/rates
- Inquisitive nature and desire to understand financial markets
- Proactivity
- Strong communication skills
- Good work ethic, self-motivated
