The role is to work within the London based Equities Capital Markets Financing Trade and Lifecycle control (TLCS) team.

Fundamentally the role involves ensuring that transactions are properly controlled and that any issues raised are promptly resolved. Delays in resolving errors can potentially lead to risk events / losses and the role involves ensuring that any queries raised by other divisions are promptly resolved, ensuring that all bookings in risk are correct and complete.

You will working in partnership with a UBS India CMF TLS team, to provide guidance and assistance with complex issues. Being London based you will be based in the same geographical location as the majority of our internal stakeholders.

We're looking for an Equities Middle Office Specialist to:

• The day to day delivery of T+0 and T+1 controls for the EMEA Capital Markets Financing business, including escalations and control effectiveness testing.
• Collaborate with our partner in UBS India to deliver Prime Brokerage middle office services, taking ownership of controls and processes from a UBS perspective.
• Act as a face-off between operations and the business.
• Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with product knowledge spanning from equity swaps, futures and vanilla options to vanilla cash equity products, including an understanding of how products are hedged.
• Work with Sales, Trading and Prime Brokerage account managers to ensure that client queries (both external and internal) are addressed in a timely manner.
• Drive change initiatives and automation within TLCS and to contribute to strategic change projects.
• Clearly communicate and escalate outstanding issues with senior stakeholders in operations and the business.
• Participate in risk review meetings with operational risk, the business and COO to review and explain key risk metrics. Your team
You'll be working in the IB aligned Equities middle office team in London.

The primary focus of the TLCS team is to ensure the completeness and accuracy of transactions from front end risk management systems to downstream systems. As the link between sales, trading and other operations and finance functions you'll also be involved in regulatory, client, and process improvement initiatives as required.

As a member of the TLCS team, you'll play an important role in managing the operational risk of the Capital Markets Financing business and improving the client experience.

Your expertise
• Ideally 2+ years of experience within middle office, financial controlling or prime brokerage.
• Demonstrable experience of working with equity swaps in a previous role.
• Understanding of risk management for equities.
• Knowledge of OTC derivatives (especially equity swaps), exchange traded derivative products, and cash equity products, including front to back and lifecycle event processing.
• Understanding of prime brokerage and client service.
• Prior experience in working closely with colleagues in different geographical locations.
• Great at problem analysis and resolution: identify and examine problems in order to understand them, generate options and recommend solutions which are logical, reasonable and realistic.
• Experience in building and maintaining Alteryx workflows is highly desirable.
• Previous experience with Traiana Harmony is desirable, but not essential.
