The Collateral Projects Manager is a key member of the in-business credit risk function responsible for the collateral that underpins the bank's lending and trading activities. Working closely with credit risk program managers, collateral risk experts and other teams engaged in business transformation, the Collateral Business Analyst leads or supports tactical and strategic projects involving collateral and supporting Citi's engagement with regulatory programs on all collateral-related topics.
This is a new role in a rapidly growing area of the bank and provides an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, innovative and results-oriented individual to take the next step on their career path and to play a key role in the development of a new department within the bank.
Ideal candidates for this role will have strong experience in transformation program management, gained in a front office / banking capacity or from a cross-business risk or support function along with a good understanding of the role of collateral in mitigating credit risk. They will have a proven track record in engaging effectively with complex programs, analyzing requirements and managing effective project delivery.

The Team:
In line with its focus on risk and controls, Citi has created a new first line risk function, Institutional Credit Management (ICM). ICM's principal focus is credit risk: it has been established with the objective of providing integrated "end-to-end" credit underwriting, and the management of associated risks for wholesale credit businesses across the enterprise.
Within ICM, the Collateral Risk Management group focuses on the monitoring and management of risks relating to collateral posted and received in connection with Citi's trading and banking book activities. The Collateral Risk Management group consists of regional Collateral Risk teams and a Collateral Analytics, Policy and Transformation team, of which this role forms a key part.

The Mission:
The Collateral Analytics, Policy and Transformation team is tasked with delivering global initiatives relating to collateral risk management and with providing tactical solutions to support the regional Collateral Risk teams.
The Collateral Projects Manager will take the lead on specific collateral projects and provide specialist support on other projects, under the direction of the Collateral Risk Transformation Manager.
The Collateral Projects Manager will build effective relationships with program managers of transformation programs that impact collateral and will work closely with the regional Collateral Risk Managers to define and lead initiatives in their respective regions, in partnership with the Collateral Policy Application Manager and Collateral Head of Analytics.
Key benefits include the development of an unusually broad perspective on the firm's activities (across both banking book and trading book), the acquisition of specialized knowledge of regulatory developments and the firm's financing practices, exposure to senior leadership and a rewarding, creative, and dynamic working environment.

The role:
The Collateral Projects Manager will be expected to lead or support on a range of collateral projects with responsibilities including:
  • Acting as project manager on a small number of assigned projects, with responsibility for driving the project to successful conclusion
  • Developing the project plan, overseeing the completion of all project artefacts and ensuring the collection of all evidence required to support project completion and internal audit validation
  • Leading the project communication with all stakeholders, chairing the project team calls and providing regular updates to management, sponsors and program manager
  • Undertaking specific business analysis tasks including developing process flows, analyzing data, summarizing business requirements and preparing business artefacts
  • Directing the work of consultants and contractors assigned to support specific projects
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Financial Services (or strategy consulting)
  • Track record in business analysis and project management
  • Highly analytical & creative mindset
  • Strong and impactful presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and a quick learner
  • Ability to work well under pressure, in a front office environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, particularly in leading calls
  • Knowledge of collateral and exposure to credit risk management is a plus
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (such as Tableau) and workflow tools (such as Appian) is preferred
  • Knowledge of Citi's infrastructure is a plus
