The team
We are a team at the heart of the electronic trading. We own the production plant and manage the systems that process billions of dollars' worth of trades every day. Working as part of the Site Production Engineering function, Frontline support team members proactively and reactively deal with operational risk. We are accountable for the monitoring and support of Algorithmic, Smart Routing, Order Management & MTF systems.
We use and evolve the techniques, tools and applications to monitor systems, application and business performance. We work closely with the developers, the products managers, the business support team and the technology team to deliver electronic execution services. We ensure the availability, performance and flexibility of the service, today and in the future.

Job Description
The team requires a self-motivated self-starter with good technical skills to be primary support providing support to the front office Sigma X MTF trading applications. The role would sit within the Frontline support team and be responsible for providing daily support coverage to the Sigma X Equity trading platform, respond to clients and member requests and be a point of liaison between the business and engineering stakeholders of the MTF.

The ideal candidate would have experience in a support function in a similar financial services firm and bring a high level of customer service in their approach. These skills to complement good technical skills - FIX, Unix/Linux, SQL database.

Role Responsibilities
  • Serve as level 1 support and provide daily MTF application and overall platform support, and troubleshooting for members
  • Be a point of contact for external members and vendors
  • Fulfil client and platform customisation requests
  • Maintain platform health through alerting provisioning and monitoring
  • Participate in change manage process
  • Manage any incidents from the perspective of the MTF, and coordinate post-mortems and follow ups
  • Drive continuous improvement through incident follow-ups and root cause analysis
  • Challenge other teams to improve production-related practice
  • Coordinate and run emergency and regulatory required periodic testing of systems and procedures
  • Assist with product testing and project work


Essential Experience
  • Proven experience supporting a production platform in financial markets, ideally in an exchange trading environment
  • Application support experience within Unix /Linux environment
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of European equity market structure, ideally familiar with MTFs.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of FIX protocol
  • Using and maintaining application monitoring, performance and capacity management in large-scale systems
  • Good experience with MSSQL, Sybase databases; including writing queries
  • Strong desire and ability to understand the business
  • Ability to triage and prioritise incoming requests
  • Good communication skills - ability to communicate technical and business requirements effectively

Desired Experience
  • Working knowledge of order management systems
  • Experience in programming and scripting languages - Python, Java, Javascript
