About our client
Our client is an impressive placement agent and advisory firm, it specialises in raising capital for private equity, special situations and venture capital funds. Placement agents come in to advise investors on the fundraising process and facilitates the process through its network within the institutional investment market. As an Associate/Senior Associate on the team, you will enjoy fantastic exposure to clients early on and will prepare for and execute on fundraises. Typically, private fundraising includes four phases; the first is winning the mandate; the second is preparing the offering to go to market; thirdly, marketing the vehicle to the institutional investor community globally; and finally closing the vehicle. The incoming candidate will be involved in all of these aspects of fundraising, usually for multiple clients simultaneously, each of which is probably at a different phase of the fundraising process. As such, prospective candidates will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What the job involves
- Developing and maintaining relationships with investors across the US and Europe
- Identifying and proactively approaching prospective investors
- Proactively marketing all of the firm's strategies and solutions to the appropriate investors in the region
- Working with internal teams to coordinate the capital raising process
- Reviewing investor communications and managing key deliverables
- Conducting research and analysis into the private equity market - including fund managers (GPs), investors (LPs), various trends and specifics related to either GPs and LPs, macro-economic and micro-economic dynamics, as well as legal and regulatory compliance
- Background in private equity working at a placement agent or in in-house investor relations team
- Experience raising capital from institutional investors would be advantageous
- Financially literate, faultless written and verbal English language skills
- Strong communicator, able to confidently manage relationships with senior professionals internally and externally
- Excellent academic track record
