Data Scientist

About the Analytics - Data Science Team:

The objective of the Analytics - Data Science Team is to utilize the data science capability to drive innovative solutions and empower our business leaders achieve better outcomes for our customers and stakeholders. Our team actively collaborates with other teams with analytics group, work closely with investment teams and provide tangible AI driven commercial solutions.

Some examples of the recent projects we have undertaken:
  • ML application in ESG data
  • Topic modelling and sentiment analysis
  • Portfolio Optimization
  • Extracting data from scanned docs using a combination of OCR and machine learning

The work will revolve around the following:
  • Interpret and communicate the insights with advanced visuals
  • Build data ingestion pipelines (with data sourced from SFTP, third party API and/or web scrapping) and design database schemas for that data
  • Explore the data and extract the insights using Machine Learning models such as Linear Regression, Random Forest, XGBoost and (sometimes) Neural Networks
  • Productionize the solution when as and when needed (build CI/CD pipelines with the help of friendly DevOps engineer)

We are looking for talented individuals to join our team - people with an empiricist attitude towards data, with mathematical intuition, curiosity, a positive outlook and who have worked on real data problems.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Design and apply machine learning techniques to deliver actionable insights from large-scale, multi-structured datasets.
  • Work with internal and external teams to develop models (ranging from data exploration to feature engineering and model development to validation and scoring.) and put them into production
  • Be able to deliver project on his/her own as well as working in collaboration
  • Also wear hat of Business Analyst when needed to understand the business and come up with multiple ways to cater the solution given the AI/ML skills expertise underneath.

Skills & Capabilities Summary:
  • Good knowledge about asset management/investment domain.
  • Ability to utilize data science techniques to analyse data, detect pattern, extract and present insights with advanced visualization
  • Excellent python coding skill
  • Problem solving and end-to-end project delivery experience
  • Excellent ETL skill
  • Some experience of deploying and putting into production ML based solution is desired
  • Some experience with stakeholder engagement is preferred

Skills/Capability: Good to have
  • Experience of working with Azure DevOps
  • Experience of working with Databricks

  • Master degree or equivalent in STEM courses
  • Data scientist experience
  • Some working experience as investment/business/research analyst desired
