The Role:

The Data and Reporting Services Team is responsible for overseeing and delivering business-critical data to stakeholders across the company, primarily via the use of the core investment system, Aladdin, as well as having responsibility for fulfilling M&G's Reporting obligations to Clients, Fund investors and Regulators.

This newly-established fixed-term role represents an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the Regulatory Data Services Team, operating out of the M&G UK office. Focus will be on supporting the change agenda items for the Regulatory Data Services function, specifically as it relates to data and sourcing. The role will require close collaboration with both the UK-based and Mumbai-based Data and Reporting Services Teams to ensure the data requirements for our obligations are understood and best practices for Data usage are followed or in some cases creted. The role consequently presents a great opportunity to develop an understanding of the M&G business and the data environment that supports it as the company expands into new markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively liaising with the Global Data and Reporting Services Teams and key internal and external stakeholders to collect and verify required data from appropriate sources, ensuring accurate and timely information is supplied to the business
  • Understanding how terms and conditions of various asset classes (e.g. Fixed Income, Equities, Private, ETD & OTC Derivatives) impact key analytics used by investment decision makers in order to support their queries
  • Challenging current processes, driving change, proactively realising opportunities for improvements across Data and Reporting Services
  • Analysing potentially large data sets to identify data quality issues that may need to be escalated to the business and implementing ongoing data quality controls to mitigate these issues going forward
  • Understanding the lineage of data published to stakeholders within the Investment Teams and the Client & Regulatory Reporting functions, ensuring the data used in these reports is appropriately governed and understood.
  • Supporting the implementation of controls and procedures and documenting the same
  • Ensuring data requirements are fully supported within all required systems

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Proactive self-starter, with the ability to identify problems and having the perseverance to see them through to resolution
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally
  • Ability to generate and maintain positive relationships within the team and across the business
  • An understanding of the investment industry with good knowledge of instruments across various asset classes (e.g. Fixed Income, Equities, Private, ETD & OTC Derivatives)
  • An understanding of the investment lifecycle process, including the setup of funds, counterparties and the referential data required by these areas
  • Appreciation of the requirements of an operational control environment
  • Knowledge of clients, products and the regulations under which they operate

  • Good working knowledge of Aladdin, Bloomberg and Refinitiv
  • Relevant qualifications such as IOC/IMC or CFA level 1
  • Experience of data visualisation tools such as Power BI
