The Role:
A key leadership role within our Workplace Solutions Sustainability team helping to shape M&G's Corporate Sustainability agenda, building upon and enhancing the established M&G's framework of People, Place and Partnerships.

Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • Redefine M&G's Corporate Sustainability operating model with deeper integration across the firm
  • Work in close collaboration with key stakeholders including, Investments, Communications, Risk, Technology, Procurement, Corporate Social Responsibility and Finance to drive change across organisation
  • Providing leadership support to coordinating performance reporting for M&G's corporate net zero plan
  • Help shape and define net zero transition work streams which align with published commitments and mitigate transition risk
  • Proactively embedded sustainability SME's to support M&G business functions develop their sustainability goals using appropriate terms of reference and supporting governance
  • Support the preparation of business cases for additional net zero work streams identified as activities evolve
  • Support a team of technical and subject matter experts who collaborate across functions to progress sustainability initiatives
  • Monitor and evaluate outcomes of projects and programmes, reporting regularly to senior leadership committee and board
  • Collaborating with key internal stakeholders on reporting, for example, TCFD and CDP
  • Maintaining a sustainability risk and opportunity registers for corporate sustainability

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Degree in environmental science, energy management, climate change, sustainability or equivalent through experience
  • Ideally experience of sustainability within the real estate sector and/or financial services sector
  • Experience of working with GHG disclosure programmes such as CDP
  • Experience or understanding of Science Based Targets and other industry benchmark schemes
  • Proven ability to define, communicate and motivate the team to deliver sustainability goals and objectives
  • Track record of driving change and present a compelling vision to senior management
  • Able to speak knowledgeably and accurately on current sustainability matters to a range of audiences (expert/non-expert), engaging people's hearts and minds and making a clear business case for new initiatives.
  • Technical competent in understanding complex problems, think strategically, identify sustainable solutions, deliver reasoned and auditable solutions
  • Ability to analyse corporate portfolio performance by bench-marking and derive measurements of performance reflecting all aspects of sustainability
  • Track record on operating in fast paced, fast changing working environment
  • Skilled at working in multi-stakeholder environments
