About our client
Our client, an innovative and diverse investment fund are looking to hire a Compliance Manager on a part-time basis. The fund invests in technology-focused companies with commercially viable solutions, and innovations that serve the environment. Having just closed their first fund after a highly successful fund raise, the team are experiencing increasing levels of growth. The Compliance Manager would become part of the small but highly impressive London-based team, making it a very exciting opportunity. As it is a first-time hire for the fund, the Compliance Manager can mould and adapt the role as they see fit, with room to grow and develop within the team.
What the job involves
As Compliance Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the regulatory compliance function and providing operational support on an ad-hoc basis. You will also be required to:
  • Coordinate due diligence on new investee companies, new investors into the fund and the investment process
  • Carry out financial crime oversight
  • Carry FCA Senior Manager functions SMF16/17
  • Complete AML/ KYC for new investments
  • Offer support to the finance team through carrying out fund notices, investor reports and management/ statutory accounts
  • Manage ESG including for portfolio companies and as Company Secretary for entities in the fund
Who we are looking for
  • Compliance experience within the private markets or alternative investment space
  • Familiarity with FCA requirements and previously held role of FCA "approved person" (SMF16/17)
  • Exposure to operations teams within venture capital funds/ investment management would be advantageous
  • Highly numerate and excellent attention to detail
  • A can-do attitude, with a willingness to collaborate and experience with a high level of autonomy
