The Role : You will create compelling, market-relevant content including analysis/features, breaking news and digital media focused on the crude and refined products market and both the upstream and downstream sectors across various EMEA beats. You are a confident, articulate team player who will work closely with SPGCI's pricing and analytics teams. You have a strong journalistic skill set, able to shed light on complex topics through clean, compelling writing and great visualisation.

You will develop quickly into a subject matter expert, supporting key benchmarks at a time when energy security has never been more crucial. The role provides access to a wide array of pricing and data analytics, giving you a unique opportunity to add value and insight.

The Team / The Business : The EMEA energy news team works closely together in what can be a fast-paced environment. You'll work with reporters and editors within the oil team as well as the wider team as the beat also fits in with the energy transition gas and power markets.

Responsibilities

•Develop Oil Content
As a writer and editor, you will ensure that oil news from the London desk is timely, unique and relevant. You will be responsible for creating content and presenting it in a way that has maximum impact. You will monitor news flow from competitors, prioritize daily content and help conduct forward planning of event and story coverage.

• Content Presentation
You will be required to think innovatively on how best to present the content to make it impactful and reader friendly. This could involve the use of infographics, charts, tables etc.

• Content Generation
You will be required to collaborate with regional stringers, market reporters and other members of the energy news team to generate and drive content. This could be in the form of further analysis of developing news/features.

• Market engagement
You would be expected to develop and maintain productive relationships with a broad base of key industry sources.

Your Skills :
  • Relevant experience in oil or commodity news reporting.
  • Strong English language editing, writing and reporting skills.
  • Data analysis capabilities.
  • Excel skills.
  • Highly motivated, productive team player able to adapt to a fast-evolving daily slate of stories.
