Join Close Brothers Tax Team where you will be a Tax Manager and you will manage statutory tax compliance deadlines and obligations of the banking division. The Tax Manager will take ownership for the management of tax projects and deliverables. They should also take responsibility for advising the business and finance teams around associated Tax matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide ongoing management to the team including delivering experienced advice & guidance to ensure they remain highly motivated & successful.
  • Provide oversight & Guidance for Close Brothers efforts to calculate and obtain Research & Development related Tax Credits.
  • Provide extensive review of comprehensive workings in respect of Finance Leases in order to calculate the required Tax effects of these deals at the key Tax and Financial reporting period deadlines.
  • Review workings included in the compilation and ultimate completion of the Corporation Tax returns within the Banking Division, including analysing data on Tax sensitive areas.
  • Oversee compilation of our PSA Returns (Income Tax), understanding and utilising all available exemptions to ensure a very high level of accuracy of output.

Developing Our People: as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
  • Professional qualification in accounting e.g. ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA, ATT
  • Proven experience within a financial services Tax function in practice or industry.
  • Experience in Direct or Indirect Taxes.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Good commercial awareness; keeps up to date on knowledge and compliance with all regulatory tax requirements including changes in tax law in practice and the potential impact on the business.

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
  • Experience in software tools such as SAP and ALFA.
