Business Unit Overview:

BlackRock Finance consists of finance professionals in disciplines such as Financial Planning & Analysis ( - FP&A), Treasury, Tax, Financial Controls, Sourcing and Vendor Management, Finance Platform Support and Controllers. Within the Controllers - Group, the Transfer Pricing Execution team record all of BlackRock - s related party transactions/provision of group services as if these were between unrelated parties using arm - s length transaction principles on a US GAAP basis. The transactions/support services that are subject to Transfer Pricing (TP) principles are diverse and comprises areas such as product TP, Infrastructure support as well as Executive recharge models across all business lines (reallocation of both revenues and costs across BlackRock group of corporate entities).

Job Purpose/Background:

The TPE Associate will be responsible for supporting the TP team in their monthly postings, analysis, reporting and controls. This provides the opportunity to interact with different stakeholders across the globe including Global Revenues and Costs, Financial & Prudential Reporting Team ( - FPR - ), Finance Controls and Reporting Team, External Reporting, Tax and FP&A so attention to detail, a controls focus and excellent communication skills are essential. The team work very closely with the Transfer Pricing Policy team, which is part of the Tax function, responsible for the development of policy documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strong controls and procedures are in place in relation to the general ledger
  • Work on special projects including updates of operational policies and procedures
  • Provide timely responses to inquiries and special requests
  • Ensure TP entries are recorded properly in accordance with US GAAP and in line with Transfer Pricing memos/policies
  • Review and record actual and accrual entries in the general ledger
  • Analyze monthly TP numbers
  • Provide commentary around variance analysis (analyzing AUM flows, market movements, adjustments, etc.)
  • Responding to both external and internal audit requests

Knowledge/Experience:

Required:
  • Qualified accountant CA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Strong control mindset
  • Proficiency in the full MS-Office suite: particularly MS-Excel. Detailed knowledge and experience of using Excel formulae/look-ups and pivot tables is required and an aptitude for learning new applications


Desirable:
  • Ideally the candidate would have some previous experience of working within financial services, ideally within Investment Management, but this is not essential
  • Experience of accounting systems, processes and controls is also beneficial


Competencies:

  • Strong willingness to learn with a high-level of motivation and adaptability
  • Well-organized, methodical and detail orientated with an ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to synthesize information and summarize key issues
  • Ability to clearly and confidently communicate in verbal and written form, with all levels of the business
  • Initiative and confidence to identify potential process improvement opportunities and helping deliver benefit to the business
  • Ensure TP entries are recorded properly in accordance with US GAAP and in line with Transfer Pricing memos/policies
  • Review and record actual and accrual entries in the general ledger
  • Analyze monthly TP numbers
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations at month end.
  • Provide commentary around variance analysis (analyzing AUM flows, market movements, adjustments, etc.)
  • Responding to both external and internal audit requests

Our hybrid work model
