Job Description:

The Credit Solutions team is responsible for managing and developing credit relationships with clients and prospects. The team leads the deal structuring and due diligence process partnering with the Technology Banking Team on the delivery and negotiation of solutions and is responsible for proactive, robust portfolio management including maintaining credit quality.

As an Associate, you will conduct due diligence and support the structuring and delivery of credit solutions through underwriting new loans, Cash Management requests, renewals, and credit actions related to modifications or changing risk. You will be responsible for supporting the overall lending process on new deals and modifications to existing deals, from initial analysis through documentation and closing. You will review and analyse information, and opine on clients' performance and compliance status, changing level of risk and broader trends in portfolio. You will utilize your critical thinking skills in supporting VP's and Directors/MD's on both recommendations and actions pertaining to pipeline and portfolio management. The role will require robust completion of portfolio management activities with practices that meet SVB policies/procedures in terms of timeliness, completeness, consistency and accuracy. You will handle client needs by interacting with appropriate internal and external stakeholders. You will develop solid expertise in SVB's loan types and markets.

Essential Functions
Analysis and underwriting for new debt facilities and amendments and Cash Management lines, including the review and due diligence on client information and financials, supporting in structuring the deal, overall credit approval package preparation (CAR, spreads, sensitivities, modelling, blue sheets etc.) and closing (documentation and booking).
Support proactive portfolio management by reviewing financial and other information (both externally and internally prepared) to properly assess client situations and risk. Participate in client meetings as appropriate to gather and understand information to be able to effectively communicate updates to key stakeholders. Ensure proper documentation of our findings and recommended actions through Action Plans, CRR updates, Variances, reporting to partners in Technology Banking and Credit Administration, and other parts of the bank as needed.
Loan maintenance activity - efficiently actions funding and repayment requests and queries from internal and external stakeholders relating to credit lines.

Provide coaching and guidance to ADPers on process and policy as required.
Data tracking via the Portfolio Management Sheets. Utilize this data to drive credit and comparable transactions analysis and recommendations.

Skills
Able to contact established clients, under guidance from the Director/MD or Vice President.

- Works collaboratively with internal and external partners
- Skilled at analyzing data to support and improve business decisions
- Capable in financial modelling and analysing management accounts.
- Able to produce a high-quality draft credit memo and leverages resources to support and verify reasoning.
- Able to quickly dissect large amounts of information and identify key focus areas, risks, issues and questions.
- Confident in prioritising workload, raising any issues and coordinating with colleagues to ensure all requests and deadlines are met.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience
Prior related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
- Track record of consistently demonstrating excellent credit skills.
- Credit analysis and accounting experience.
