Founded in 2010 by ex-investment bankers, my client is a disruptive financial technology (FinTech) company. Their clients are made up of Leading investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, commodity houses, and brokerage firms (collectively representing over 20 trillion dollars of AUM).

My clients AI-assisted Software Products offer market-leading trade data analysis in the following areas: Market Abuse; Operational Risk; Best Execution; Anti Money Laundering and Comms Surveillance. We are headquartered in London, with further offices in New York, San Francisco, Toronto and Hong Kong, although we are expanding rapidly!

My client is looking for a VP level hire with strong interpersonal skills to take their products to the next level, with specific emphasis on their "buy-side" clients. This person would help drive the delivery of our Control Room offering, combining various metrics from our existing products (MAST and TEAM) with client-specific requirements.

This is a senior position supporting the Head of Product Development and would appeal to candidates with deep industry experience of coding and/or mathematical modelling, as well as a good breadth of knowledge of financial markets & products.

The role would combine hands on coding with a deep knowledge of financial markets & products, as your team looks for solutions that solve key issues within a financial trade surveillance context and beyond. The capacity to put yourself in the eyes of a trader is very useful as we continue to ensure our product's capabilities are ahead of competitors in the market.

Responsibilities:

Using your financial markets and products knowledge to establish context for key features to our tools.

Supporting the leading and mentorship to a small team of incredibly bright and friendly engineers.

Collaboration with other teams in order to ensure alignment with business goals (e.g. Sales, Client Support, Legal).

Providing senior leadership with regular updates on your product's development.

Demonstrable experience in a financial markets setting (previous experience in an Investment Bank or large Asset Management firm is particularly beneficial as you will be familiar with the challenges facing our clients and the environment in which they operate).

Hands on skills in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g. SQL / C# / Python).

Comfortable tutoring new joiners/junior team members.

Able to prioritise, assign and manage escalations from Client facing teams.

Able to deliver a project to agreed deadlines.

Willing to engage with clients on a regular basis.

Collaborative in their approach.

Passionate about ensuring best development practices are upheld across this team.

A creative thinker, who strives to develop disruptive tools with a key focus on automation and efficiency where possible.

Excellent in written and oral communication, with the instinctive ability to summarise essential information to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
