A privately-held asset management firm is looking to recruit an Investment Administrator in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The firm is a well-established, successful organisation with a >10 year track record. The firm, whose investment activities are conducted through its Edinburgh office has a broad institutional client base.

The Investment Administrator is a crucial role in the smooth running of the investment administration group and by extension, the operations side of the firm. The varied nature of the role allows exposure to multiple business areas.

Standard hours for this role will be 8:30am to 5:30pm, with an hour for lunch. Flexibility is required for the occasional longer day. The team currently works to a guideline of a minimum of four days in the office and one day working from home.

ADVANTAGEOUS EDUCATION / ATTRIBUTES
- Exposure and working knowledge of investment operational tasks
- Microsoft Excel to Macro / VBA level

- CISI IOC qualification

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Core Administration: Trade ticket generation, oversight of trade matching and settlement, cash management, corporate actions, proxy voting, withholding tax reclaims and investment guideline compliance.
- Fund Monitoring: Maintain internal records for client values and performance. Reconciliations versus Fund Administrator Net Asset Valuation records.
- Investment Administration Management: Investigate issues associated with investing in new markets, monitor Custodian and Fund Administrator performance, ensure operating procedures and service levels are up to date. Remain aware of regulations and changes that impact the business.
- Data management, dissemination and reporting: The Investment Administration team serves as the data hub for the business. As such, the team is responsible for delivering data to all areas of the business and reporting requirements, both internal and external. Examples include:
- Investment Management Reporting. Work with Investment Managers to develop new reports and modify existing reports as required.
- Client Reporting. Produce quarterly client presentations, support monthly newsletter preparation, provide consultant database information and other ad hoc client requests.
- Compliance. Provide portfolio and trading information to aide in regulatory disclosures and fund guideline adherence.
- Dealing support. Support the Dealer in various tasks such as; system maintenance, daily FX and equity Trade Cost Analysis (TCA).
- Participate in projects sponsored by various business groups, including developing reports to assist in monitoring of broker commissions, disclosure rules, compliance monitoring, risk management and other ad hoc requirements.
- The successful candidate will likely be required to assist other business areas in Administration tasks such as; Marketing/Client service, Compliance, Tax and Dealing.
