One of the market leading independent debt advisors is growing out their London team at both the Vice President and Associate level.

Their track record includes more than 200 transactions ranging from mid to large cap (£20mil-£1.5bil) debt transactions across multiple sectors and European jurisdictions as well as cross-border deals.

You will be joining an elite team that advises sponsors and leveraged corporates on primary debt financings, refinancings, restructurings and strategic financial reviews. You will get exposure to a wide range of debt products including bank loans, unitranche, bonds, subordinated instruments, IPO-financings, asset financings and venture debt.

Role & Responsibilities:

The role provides the opportunity to be involved in every stage of the mandate from origination to execution and can benefit from one of the strongest deal flows of any debt advisory teams in Europe, high client exposure from day one as well as close support and development from the more experienced members.

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Build a network across the various parties that are involved in transactions (e.g. PE houses, banks, private credit funds, lawyers, advisors and other service lines)
  • Originate and execute debt advisory transactions through own Industry/Company/Transaction research as well as leveraging existing (client) relationships.
  • Lead and assist with day-to-day management of transaction processes, including the preparation of information packs, management presentations, financial analysis and client communications.
  • Build financial models, including analysing business forecasts, evaluate scenario analysis and covenant calculations to see the viability of transaction structures and determine appropriate debt levels.
  • Prepare transaction related documents, including teasers, management presentations and overviews of financing options.
  • Conduct credit analysis including review of due diligence.
  • Have the responsibility for junior team members whom you will steer and coach during transactions.
  • Negotiate commercial terms related to debt structuring within a term sheet.
  • Undertake market and comparable transactions research.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development activities.

Prerequisites:
  • Have a minimum of 18-months post-accountancy qualification experience in debt advisory, financial restructuring or corporate finance advisory - experience at a big four or consultancy firm is a must.
  • Relevant Bachelor and/or Master certificate.
  • You must have a sound commercial acumen and understanding of international financial markets and debt-related products.
  • You must have strong analytical & technical skills, are result-oriented, with attention to detail and quality when delivering results under time pressure.
  • You must be eager to continue learning the ins and outs of debt finance transactions and have a flexible mindset to take on complicated and new challenges.
  • You must have proven project management and organizational skills.
  • Participation in the Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA) program is a plus.
