Job Description:

The Sales Operations Business Partner (BP) will be an individual that enjoys bringing data and insights to strategic decision making and finding ways to influence senior stakeholders.

The mission of the team is to find pathways to accelerate the growth of the EMEA business by:
  • Bringing consistency to our Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy
  • Leading critical initiatives and helping our sales teams translate GTM strategy into execution
  • Bringing data & insight into strategic decision making
  • Empowering our sales teams to be the trusted advisors to our clients by setting best practices and delivering sales training
  • Increasing efficiency through sales enablement - automation, enhanced analytics, and sales tools
  • Building competitive advantage through personalized insights and positioning SVB as the leader of innovative content
A BP will use their consulting skillset to help sales leadership and their teams find pathways to scale faster, tackle their most pressing pain points and increase the efficiency of their teams. This will include hands on work, which typically involves research, dissecting complex datasets and applying advanced analytical thinking to uncover insights, which help inform the sales strategy of the team. The BP will then formulate the strategy into an actionable plan and project manage the initiative's implementation.

Types of questions you'll be asked to help answer:
  • How can SVB use our proprietary and 3rd party data, sales tools, and advanced analytics to create highly personalized, yet scalable outreach to our prospective clients?
  • Where should our sales teams focus their efforts - regions, segments, sectors etc.? Where is their time best spent based on our data and insights?
  • How can Sales Operations improve sales enablement of our new joiners? What is the best training delivery strategy?
  • What sales tools and automation can help our teams maximize efficiency?
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and project manage delivery of key initiatives that will help achieve our strategic goals while partnering closely with sales leaders
  • Perform analysis of proprietary and 3rd party data (e.g. Pitchbook, Beauhurst, Dealroom, CapIQ etc.) to extract valuable insights and present findings and recommendations to sales leadership
  • Deliver engaging training that will empower sales teams to capitalize on their opportunities and create consistency in our GTM strategy
  • Support senior executives in tracking team performance and analysing key metrics related to client acquisition, pipeline, loan portfolio, funding, product penetration, referral channels, etc.
  • Seek out areas of operational improvement that lead to more efficient and automated portfolio management and business development
  • Advocate and help embed best practices, champion data quality (e.g. CRM) and data driven decision making among senior leadership
  • Collaborate on cross-team and cross-functional projects and lead implementation of global Sales Operations, Sales Technology and Sales Training initiatives in EMEA
  • Help enhance the EMEA Sales Operations platform through external partnerships and enhancement of internal systems and sales tools
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a quantitative discipline, such as economics, finance, mathematics or statistics, and an accomplished academic record
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to add value and help develop associates on the team
  • Team player who can work cross-functionally across multiple departments and move fast while juggling multiple projects - all while keeping very close attention to detail
  • Experience building rapport with senior leadership and ability to challenge conventional thinking with resilience and resourcefulness to make a change happen
  • Proven high achiever / peer outperformer with entrepreneurial can-do attitude, exceptional drive, and self-motivation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while constantly seeking opportunities for personal development
  • Creative problem solver - a track record of identifying and delivering on opportunities to improve sales processes with evidenced business impact
  • Ability to effectively pitch recommendations (incl. creation of high-quality internal pitch decks), as well as to project manage the implementation stage
  • Robust business judgement and acumen, proven experience developing business strategy - consulting experience desired
  • Strong understanding or interest in technology, life sciences, start-up, venture capital / private equity and corporate finance ecosystems
  • Understanding of commercial banking structure, products, and business model desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Technical Skills
  • Highly advanced (power user) of Microsoft Power Point
  • Proficient at Microsoft Excel
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Ability to use Tableau and MS Power Platform desired
Familiarity with databases such as PitchBook, Beauhurst, Dealroom, CapIQ etc. desired
