Job Description
Morgan Mckinley are recruiting for a Senior Media Manager, specialising in Technical SEO, for a leading Media agency headquartered in London.

The Technical Search Team is the primary point of contact for all technical queries relating to SEO. Delivering SEO campaigns to a high profile fashion industry client. The team also works to provide SEO input to website build projects, working alongside UX, design and development teams.

Role Summary

To lead on all technical aspects of SEO client accounts, working closely with multi-disciplinary SEO campaign teams to formulate, communicate and support the implementation of SEO strategy. Coach and develop more junior members of the team, and support and assist in the management and maintenance of a portfolio of clients.

The Technical SEO department is responsible for all technical queries relating to SEO, forming a key part of portfolio teams delivering SEO campaigns to major brands. The team also works embedded within website build projects, working alongside experts in UX, design, interface design, technical architecture etc. to ensure that SEO is integrated throughout the project lifecycle.

The Senior Media Manager (Technical SEO) will report into a Media Director (Technical SEO) and may sometimes manage Media Manager (Technical SEO) team members.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Experience in a similar role with technical SEO as a key area of focus
  • Expert level of technical SEO knowledge
  • Experience devising and delivering technical SEO strategies and recommendations.
  • Knowledge and experience of technical SEO, including: on-page markup, URL structure & site architecture, redirect strategies, structured mark-up such as Schema.org, XML Sitemaps, local, mobile, and search engine algorithms
  • In-depth familiarity with Google Search Console
  • Experience with website crawling tools such as Screaming Frog and/or DeepCrawl
  • Hands on experience with Google Analytics
  • Experience with Python for automation or tool creation
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • Ability to manage relationships with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desirable
  • Experience working for big brands on complicated SEO campaigns
  • Experience working on multi-market SEO accounts
  • Experience in an agency environment, working directly with clients as the technical contact on accounts
  • Experience with other analytics tools e.g. Adobe Analytics
  • Experience with building reports and other dashboards in Google Data Studio
  • Line management experience
  • Experience with technical SEO for non-Google search engines (e.g. Yandex/Baidu etc.)
  • Experience in developing technical business cases for SEO
  • Experience creating case studies to demonstrate success of technical SEO implementation
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent in computer science, web development or similar
  • Previous hands-on experience in web development is a strong plus, as is an understanding of website design and build methodologies (e.g. agile/waterfall), experience at working SEO into the User Experience/Design stage of website builds, familiarity with Jira
  • Experience with the Adobe AEM, Hybris and/or Sitecore platforms
  • Working knowledge of other languages (in addition to English)
