Job Description Role description and opportunities:
We are seeking an experienced candidate to join the Risk & Compliance (R&C) Chief Administrative Office (CAO) focused on people experience, training and development. CAO team responsibilities include delivering Risk & Compliance initiatives in alignment with the broader BNY Mellon strategy, driving high-priority global programs on behalf of the Chief Risk Officer, and leading people experience, development and employee communications initiatives.
The Senior Specialist will be a core member of the People Experience & Development team where they will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to a wide variety of initiatives impacting Risk & Compliance employees.
This may include, but is not limited to:
  • training strategy
  • training roadmap design and implementation
  • development program design and management
  • communication and content creation
  • editorial and event calendar management
  • event management & facilitation (virtual, hybrid & in-person)
  • reporting metrics & data analysis

Responsibilities
  • Conducts a range of assignments related to the operation of team priorities
  • Independently creates content and required materials, owning and managing approvals and dissemination
  • Identifies, assesses and solves for a variety of more complex initiatives within Risk & Compliance that have international impact and/or impact across the business.
  • Partners with senior management to develop, plan and implement complex recommendations/initiatives that address issues and align with key objectives.
  • Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas across disciplines to achieve project objectives.
  • Takes a leadership role across multiple disciplines by serving as the central point of coordination and control in a project to ensure cross-business collaboration. Tracks project team activities and deliverables and applies strategic business concepts to ensure alignment of strategy and project execution. Reviews project implementation status and provides feedback to senior team members. Makes recommendations to improve project status.
  • Analyzes market data to identify trends/opportunities. Translates opportunities into operational plans and executes on plans.
  • Conducts advanced internal research and data analysis to assist with strategic management initiatives. Uses analyses to develop recommendations/solutions that can be implemented and measured. Supports the implementation of recommended actions.
  • Contributes to other high-priority Risk & Compliance initiatives as assigned
  • Serves as a team leader to more junior analysts, providing guidance and managing workflow.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, communication, human resources or other related technical discipline or equivalent working experience is required
  • 5 -10 years of total work experience is required
  • Prior experience supporting employee development, communication, or engagement initiatives is needed
  • Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel (pivot tables, formulas, v-lookups)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA, MPA, or a graduate degree in a similar and/or related field is preferred
  • Superb writing skills with ability to clearly and concisely articulate concepts and create well-structured messages
  • Experience managing many diverse and often complex issues and/or tasks, with demonstrated ability to effectively drive accountability and get results
  • Excellent judgement and utmost integrity and objectivity with demonstrated commitment to upholding high standards
  • Self-starter and highly motivated with entrepreneurial mindset
