Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the breadth and quality of risk analytics across public market desks in the form of modelling (scenario analysis, stress testing, what-if) and risk attribution
  • Perform regular investment desk reviews where risk allocation and portfolio construction are overseen and challenged
  • Enthusiasm for following macroeconomic trends and appreciation for evolving investment risks
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with the wider Investment Risk team and front office stakeholders
  • Challenge material investment proposals from the front office
  • Conduct thematic reviews on areas of interest across public and private market desks
  • Review and challenge investment guidelines
  • Contribute to oversight of scheme wide risks

Technical Competencies, Skills and Experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player who can build strong working relationships with front office
  • Self-starter who is highly organised and able to prioritise
  • Comprehensive knowledge of risk management within large complex and diverse portfolios, with proven experience of risk management across public markets.
  • Track record of providing independent challenge from a second line perspective, and ability to come up with practical solutions
  • Excellent understanding and application of investment risk analysis and attribution
  • Experience of investment risk systems such as RiskMetrics, Barra and Bloomberg PORT
  • Python or other programming language/database experience highly desirable.
  • Further qualifications and/or CFA charter-holder status would be a benefit but not essential.
