JOB OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a strong Core Systems Engineer to play a key role, deliver solutions to our business partners, solve complex problems, and strive to advance and sustain a world-class platform. This position requires strong analytical skills, with a high attention to detail, and a desire to analyze and solve complex problems. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people across the organization. Excellent organization, communication, and delivery skills are required. This individual must be a team player with a desire and willingness to learn. Our team's primary mission is to provide a resilient backbone infrastructure for the firm. Hence, this engineer will be responding to alerts, installing, configuring, and supporting network and security appliances.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interact directly with business partners at all levels of the organization to define, analyze, and document requirements, as well as set priorities
  • Act as a champion and trusted advisor for the needs of the business partners
  • Develop a strong partnership with the delivery team to ensure on time, scalable, and high-quality business solutions
  • Act as an escalation point person for support issues that require detailed analysis and management
  • Provide regular status reporting and issue tracking
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot various products and tools in network and security field to ensure seamless operations of the global infrastructure.
  • Proactively utilize monitoring tools to locate, diagnose and resolve network security related issues throughout the global, large scale, multi-protocol and multi-vendor infrastructure.
  • Plan and execute network and security changes with proper anticipation of risk, outage, and impact.
  • Perform data center operational work, managing and maintaining business critical data centers.
  • Work with various vendors in resolving support cases, RMAs, platform upgrades and refreshes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 2 year(s) of experience in the network security operations and engineering field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and willing to work in an energetic, fast paced team environment
  • Experience documenting/diagramming workflows, such as Visio
  • Willingness to work independently in an energetic, fast-paced, business-critical and team oriented-environment
  • A strong team player, with ability to work in collaboration across teams
  • Strong AWS infrastructure experience with focus on data engineering services
  • Effective hands-on skills in enterprise routing and switching field, preferably Cisco CCNP/CCDP or CCNP Security certified.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP stack, application protocols (DHCP, DNS, HTTP, SNMP, NTP...) and networking protocols and concepts (BGP, OSPF, VRF, NAT, Clustering, High Availability, Load Balancing, QoS).
  • Strong hands-on experience with networking products such as Cisco routers, Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, Arista and Aruba switches.
  • Exposure to network security products, preferably Zscaler, Palo Alto and Cisco ASA is a big plus.
  • Working knowledge of network monitoring, management and analysis tools such as Infoblox, Splunk, PRTG, Kibana, WireShark or similar.
  • Good working knowledge of global enterprise MPLS WAN connectivity solutions. Understanding of SD-WAN (Cisco Meraki, Cisco Viptela) concepts will be considered as a plus.
  • Enterprise wireless concepts and technologies, knowledge of Aruba wireless is a plus.
  • Experience with ITIL processes and procedures, especially with Change and Incident Management.
