Role Description

Reporting to the Manager of Operational Financial Controls, you will be a key member of the financial controls team, responsible for assisting and delivering on all Operational Financial Control related activities; providing specialist knowledge of the Internal Client Money Reconciliations function.

Team Responsibilities
  • Execution of Client Money Reconciliation in line with defined policy; identifying funding requirement.
  • Daily Client engagement


Specific Role Responsibilities
  • Production and review of daily Internal Client Money Reconciliations
  • Challenge of Internal and External processes to ensure compliance and best practice
  • Review and improvement of internal processes and procedures, providing feedback to other Operational teams where appropriate
  • Keeping abreast of any new developments/regulations within the market place
  • Being a process expert within the team, dealing with complex issues and delivering resolution
  • Providing support to the business based on technical knowledge of team and role
  • Testing, implementing and documenting any change into the team
  • Supporting manager in reviewing work and production of MI to demonstrate effectiveness of controls within team
  • Reviewing any project documentation to assess impact to team
  • Reviewing procedures periodically to ensure completeness and accuracy of current process
  • Identifying and driving forward ideas to continuously improve the existing operating process


Experience required
  • Demonstrated r econciliations experience preferably within a similar environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise with internal and external parties at all levels
  • Proven Excel skills including ability to take data from multiple sources and produce accurate and timely reports
  • Highly organised, confident, decisive and enthusiastic self-starter
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines:and as part of an effective team as well as autonomously
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of UK investment products and markets beneficial
  • Understanding of CASS rules and how they apply to the operational environment
