About the Position

We are looking for a Compliance Analyst to join our Compliance Advisory Team out of our London office. You will work with internal business groups to identify, advise, analyse and resolve regulatory reporting and compliance issues relating to Jane Street's European Business. This role will include training and advising various internal parties on a diverse range of compliance matters, and would best suit someone with previous experience at a liquidity provider, broker or investment bank.

Additional responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Assisting the Advisory Compliance Team with trading flow-related issues and tasks
  • Analysing existing and new business regulations, providing advice on their potential impact for the firm and formulating clear business requirements in response
  • Advising on new jurisdiction, instrument, and trading venue projects to ensure that appropriate systems and processes are in place to meet any resultant regulatory reporting obligations
  • Drafting and updating policies and procedures in line with changes to regulatory requirements to capture new kinds of activity
  • Working closely with our in-house team of developers to improve the capabilities of existing compliance tools and systems
  • Developing improvements to the efficiency of the group's compliance control frameworks and processes
  • Responding to queries and requests from both internal and external parties in a prompt and accurate manner

Jane Street's Legal and Compliance Group sits at the intersection of the firm's business areas. This role is an opportunity to gain exposure to the varied operations of global trading and to understand the interaction of various U.K., EU and international regulations.

About You
  • Undergraduate degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience in the finance industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; communicates clearly and able to explain conclusions clearly to colleagues across the firm
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a challenging and fast-paced environment
  • Reliable and flexible team player with a positive attitude
  • Proactive, pragmatic, self-motivated, responsible and detail-oriented
  • An intellectually robust capability to walk others through your thought process
  • Fluency in English is required
