Job Purpose Statement

Where you'll fit in & what our team goals are....

As the Corporate Communications Manager, you will be a member of the EMEA Corporate Affairs team with responsibility for building a strong reputation through the creation and delivery of corporate messaging and thought leadership as well as the delivery of strategic communications campaigns. Working with colleagues across the business, and the wider Communications team globally, you will run communications for a range of business, regulatory, operational or change projects, including some issues management.

Role Responsibilities

How you'll spend your time ....
  • Build a strong corporate reputation through the creation and delivery of corporate messaging to differentiate the corporate organisation and support strategic growth areas (e.g. Responsible Investment).
  • Handle the EMEA responsible business / CSR narrative, working with SMEs across the business.
  • Work with external agencies to run and deliver major research/sponsorship/ thought leadership projects to further strategic objectives.
  • Develop communications, such as client briefing notes, press releases, key messaging documents and articles, for a wide range of collaborators (including clients, media, employees) for operational, regulatory and change projects.
  • Protect Columbia Threadneedle's reputation by preparing reactive communications advice and materials in times of crisis or business change, both for media and clients.
  • Work closely with the Communications Executive, providing oversight of the corporate content on website, social media and other channels.
  • Complete all activity in line with what we value, relevant policies and procedures.
  • Stay ahead of industry developments in core thematic/strategic areas including detailed understanding of regulatory requirements and changing client demands and priorities.


Key Capabilities

To be successful in this role you will have ....
  • Proven track record of delivering strategic messaging and communications initiatives and campaigns (corporate, thought leadership and product).
  • A strong understanding of the asset management sector and business with shown experience of developing communications within the industry.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to build communications in different writing styles.
  • Highly organised with strong project and planning skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and understanding of sophisticated, technical subjects with the ability to build communications suited to a sophisticated business audience and to translate complex information into comprehensible messages.
  • Ability to work effectively, interact confidently with and influence team members, colleagues and senior executives across the firm.
  • A team and results focused player, capable of engaging, influencing and contributing to communications strategy, planning and development across all areas of the business.
  • Values differences and diversity, builds networks and helps champion a culture of inclusion and support.
