As Director, Sustainability Communications, you will be supporting the development and execution of the group-level communications strategy in relation to global challenges, positive impact, business growth and managing reputational risk. You will be responsible for creating content and campaigns related to our Sustainability and ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) strategy, including amplifying the work of our Global Impact team. You will make an important contribution to writing and coordinating key sustainability content for our annual report, as well as overseeing the delivery of our Task Force for Climate-Related Disclosures (TCFD) report and other ESG disclosures.

Your role will help ensure connectivity across the Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing (CABM), Sustainable Finance, Group Public & Regulatory Affairs (GPRA), Investor Relations and Group Finance teams.

Strategy
• Support the Global Head of Sustainability Communications to develop the Bank's group-level multi-channel communications strategy for global sustainability and ESG, encompassing campaigning, storytelling and brand building with a view to strengthening our reputation.
• Alongside Group Strategic Media and Global Impact teams, help to track the Sustainability/ESG landscape to identify challenges and opportunities for strategic communications and deliver best-in-class communications across both traditional and digital channels in order to differentiate and establish the Bank as an industry leader in ESG and Sustainability.
• Work closely with the Global Content, Digital and Executive Communications teams on Sustainability content, communications and campaigns
Business
• Support the creation of key messaging and content for thought leadership, including associated social media amplification
• Support delivery of ESG reporting/disclosures, in partnership with the Finance/IR and Sustainable Finance teams
• Help co-ordinate speaking events and stakeholder meetings when needed, co-ordinating with Global Platforms team for flagship events
• Support the Group Media team in managing media opportunities, as appropriate
• Develop employee engagement content and materials, working closely with Sustainable Finance and Global Impact teams
• Be a Brand Champion, ensuring all communications live up to our brand promise of 'here for good' while, at the same time, delivering committed business outcomes, a strong corporate identity, and uplift to our employer branding
• Be a champion of best practice sustainability communications and disclosures and share learnings across CABM
• Be aware of and understand sustainability and ESG-related policies, standards and/or regulations that may impact the Bank, as well as upcoming policies and the anticipated direction of travel

Our Ideal Candidate
• Extensive experience of campaigning and working with the media (e.g. as a journalist or PR professional), preferably in financial services
• Extensive experience of financial reporting, including ESG disclosures
• Understanding of current sustainability issues, policies, news and politics, including relevant sustainability and reporting standards and frameworks
• Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and content campaigns across all platforms
• Experience in managing agencies and multiple stakeholders, including senior management and third-party vendors, across multiple locations
• Ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships
