The Role Responsibilities
  • Analysis, design, development and documentation of Java custom components running primarily on the ION MarketView Platform
  • Re-engineering of existing Java components to provide a stable and maintainable platform for the Rates and Credit business
  • Ability to provide L3 Production support
  • Improve technical implementation of our Rates and Credit eTrading platform
  • Help towards the further adoption of agile methodology and implement automated testing for all new development work undertaken
  • Ability to run projects end to end without monitoring
  • Write automated functional and performance tests in Gherkin/Cucumber
Our Ideal Candidate
Other highly beneficial nice to have requirements:
  • Experience of fixed income D2C markets, price contribution and RFQ workflows
  • Experience in using the ION JAVA API
  • Demonstrable experience and conviction of writing automated tests, both unit tests and component tests.
  • Gherkin/Cucumber testing tools.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income trading environment in Rates and/or Credit businesses
  • Experience of Agile development practices ideally Scrum.
  • Troubleshooting skills in a complex trading environment including pricing/trade capture issues.
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent experience).

  • Strong Core Java Development Skills
  • Spring Framework, Spring Boot
  • Oracle/SQL (Other databases are fine)
  • Restful Microservices
  • Realtime Pricing & Trading Architectures
  • Experience of SDLC tools including GIT & Maven
  • Linux experience including shell scripting
  • Knowledge of latest industry tools and trends
  • Troubleshooting skills
