About the role

Our regulatory advice department is growing, and we have an opportunity for a Regulatory Advice Specialist to join our experienced team. This is a unique role providing regulatory advice and support at the 1st line of defence.

You will provide practical analysis of current, new, and draft regulations, legislation and guidance, whilst supporting a FTSE 100 business in the implementation of new and existing regulatory requirements and expectations. The role is dynamic and fast paced and provides the opportunity to work alongside specialist regulatory advice experts with a wealth of experience and knowledge to learn from, whilst offering a clear development pathway.

What you'll be doing
  • Provision of guidance and advice to teams across HL on regulatory matters.
  • Supporting the regulatory advice expert in the completion of regulatory and technical reviews of internal policies and processes for regulatory and technical accuracy and completeness, including supporting product reviews.
  • Completion of regulatory review of marketing and other regulatory documentation, working closely with the Regulatory Advice Expert.
  • Researching and analysing current, new and draft legislation and guidance relevant to the HL Platform
  • Supporting and adding specialist input to 1st line regulatory mapping for all rules as they apply to HL as a platform provider.
  • Maintain and expand internal regulatory and technical guidance.
  • Provide training on Regulatory application and interpretation to business areas and product teams within HL.

About you
  • Thorough working knowledge of FCA rules and regulations
  • Experience of working in a commercial organisation and liaising with all levels of stakeholder. Client focused financial services experience will be beneficial to your success in this role.
  • Demonstrable experience of interpretating and answering detailed regulatory requirements
  • An effective and engaging communicator, able to present complex information in simple context, adapting your style to suit your audience
  • Able to work in a team or alone and effectively collaborate to achieve common goals plus the ability to self-manage competing workloads & effectively prioritise
  • Proactive, organised and self sufficient
  • Ability to work, and be resilient, in a fast paced and changeable environment.

Interview process

This will be a one stage interview process. The interviews will consist of competency and behavioural based questions and a presentation/ technical task.

Working Schedule

We are looking for a Regulatory Advice Specialist to join our team, based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, and offers flexibility on hours with a minimum of 4 days. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
