The Role: Graduate Business Data Analyst - Operational Excellence

The Location: Manchester, United Kingdom

The Team: The Business Management (Insights & Operational Excellence) team is new and vital to the Software Solutions Managed Services & Operations organization. We support the management of the portfolio such that the investments we make in time, effort and money are aligned and prioritized with the organizational goals. This team embodies the S&P Global values through the discovery of new foundations for business information delivery and continual learning prioritization, the partnership to empower leaders with insights to drive business decisions and colleagues with opportunities to thrive in an innovative and inclusive environment, and by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of business information, while providing transparent messaging and distribution.

The Impact: The Business Management team is expanding our capabilities to bring forward new insights and business information to empower our leaders. These data stories bring transparency to our scalability and utilization, revenue and headcount analysis and forecasting, measurements of client success, and more.

Responsibilities:
  • Support and contribute to business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives
  • Use statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis to develop and deploy tools including dashboards, infographics, reports, and models to inform and support decision-making
  • Collect, interpret, and process data using KPIs, business data sets, and customer information
  • Develop a good understanding of the organization's business model, objectives, and challenges through on-going learning and relationship building across all levels of the organization
  • Work cross-departmentally on data-driven strategies and projects that improve business processes and decision-making
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to reporting collection, execution, output, and tools
What We're Looking For:
  • Super user of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, SQL experience preferable, but not required
  • Strong acumen in business information reporting and delivery and technically adept in leveraging business intelligence tools and resources
  • Proactive and able to work independently with an aptitude for learning and adapting in a changing environment
  • Able to conduct interpretation and analysis of data from multiple complex sources
UK Eligibility
We're now hiring for 2023 full time roles. We're looking for final year students who are working towards a bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent), and due to complete their studies and be available for a full-time role commencing in 2023.

To be eligible for our UK Graduate positions you must have the right to work full-time now and in the future. We currently do not offer visa sponsorship; however, we do run our programs in several locations across the globe and welcome you to consider those that are relevant to you.
