ICG Engineering and Architecture Practice (EAP)

The EAP Org is responsible for defining and executing core architecture and technology strategy for the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) and works across the ICG businesses (Markets, Treasury and Trade Services, Banking, and Shared Services) to ensure complete strategic alignment and efficiency of execution across a diverse portfolio of engineering activities, including external Cloud Capability development, Platform Architectures, and Data Engineering.

The Senior Business Architect must have a good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the ICG business. Requires thorough understanding of the ICG business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in engineering and architectural practices. Responsible for leading the Business and Technology teams to articulate a comprehensive future vision that clearly illustrates how critical capabilities must evolve to meet Citi's strategic transformation objectives. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, some external communication/negotiation may be necessary.

The successful candidate will partner heavily with the ICG Business, Operations, Technology, Finance & Risk Leadership teams, as well as with the EAP's functional and business aligned leadership team.

This role reports directly into the ICG Head Of Business Architecture.

Key Responsibilities : In this role, you will be handling the following (but not limited to) responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Business, Technology, Operations, Finance and Risk to describe current and establish future state business architectures, anchored to business services, processes and functions
  • Partner with data architects to illustrate critical data dependencies and influence data architecture to support the business architecture
  • Work closely with all technical partners supporting ICG to align strategic technical investments to the target state business architecture or justify any deviations
  • Contribute thought leadership to help establish the Business Architecture practice for ICG
  • Ensure that the activities in ICG are aligned to the enterprise-wide objectives defined by the CIO Council, the CDO Council and CTO Enterprise Architecture Council
  • Develop and evangelize business architecture principles

Knowledge / Experience
  • Experience in Product Management an advantage
  • Proven track record of effective leadership, with experience in complex environments, across teams in multiple locations and successfully implementing transformative changes to the organization and revolutionizing processes and organizational attitudes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern software development processes and practices
  • Experience with modernizing and migrating applications/clients to strategic architectures
  • Experience in collaborating and influencing across regional/global cross-functional teams
  • Ability to build relationships with and influence colleagues, business leaders and functional partners.

  • Bachelors or master's degree with a STEM focus (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) or equivalent work experience.
