About our client
Our client is a fast-growing impact investor, looking to add an Impact Investment Manager to its London office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a socially-conscious organisation with a passion for delivering long-lasting positive impact.
What the job involves
  • Source, analyse and evaluate new investment opportunities across a wide range of asset classes and impact investment strategies, including due diligence on commercial, impact, operational, legal and tax aspects.
  • Prepare and present sector reviews and recommendation papers for Investment Committee
  • Analyse the portfolio on an ongoing basis, including performance characteristics, attribution and look-through exposures; scenario planning; and tracking of impact and other metrics (in collaboration with Operations team)
  • Manage relationships with existing and prospective asset managers, including proactive engagement to drive impact, and monitoring of investment and impact performance and risks
  • Build up expertise in specific impact investment strategies and relevant social/environmental issues
  • Custom research projects to inform the firm's impact investment strategy and support thought leadership
  • Participate in and develop the firm's reporting, impact framework and investment processes and systems
  • Build relationships and collaborate with other allocators and investors
  • Raise awareness with external stakeholders and support the firm's role in championing impact
  • Support business development, including speaking to current and potential investors, and development of new products/target markets
  • Support enhancement of internal processes and systems,
Who we are looking for
  • Experience in private markets asset classes or multi-asset class allocation/manager selection is particularly valuable, but not essential if you have a strong interest in how multi-asset class portfolios are managed
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to understand a wide range of different impact investment strategies and asset classes at the fundamental level, the evaluation of investment managers, and the construction and management of a portfolio
  • Clear interest in social equity and environmental sustainability
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written documents and presentations with both expert and less sophisticated audiences
  • Ability to analyse quantitative data and spreadsheet models to support investment conclusions
  • Flexible and willing attitude with a proactive, self-starting approach
