The Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi's financial results in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to utilize in-depth disciplinary knowledge to generate and analyze reports as well as contribute to the development of new techniques to improve processes and work-flow.

Responsibilities:
  • Address strategic issues on an ad hoc basis that are complementary to the regular planning and analysis processes
  • Contribute to Quarterly Competitor Reviews, Quarterly Annotated Supplement, and Quarterly Investment Reports
  • Generate flash results/highlights for Board of Directors' reports and Executive Management reports
  • Develop/coordinate processes (e.g. the annual planning and periodic forecasting processes) and review results against plans monthly including business analysis functions performed by Business Unit Managers (BUMs)
  • Participate in annual budget CCAR PPNR forecasts, 3-year strategic and operating plans and monthly estimate outlook process
  • Oversee the estimation of risk capital and incorporate results into management report metrics for decision processes
  • Analyze key management review presentations for individual Regions and Products
  • Execute time critical activities for client facing Financial Planning and Analysis teams
  • Contribute to the development of review material for internal leadership and external regulator reviews
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
  • Strong experience working with a variety of financial platforms
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Job Background/context:
  • EMEA CCB is a profitable business making ~$430MM of revenues and ~$270MM of EBT, with key investments expected to drive double digit growth in the coming years.
  • CCB has a formal presence in 31 countries in EMEA with ~500 total direct staff covering ~4,800 clients.
  • CCB is a coverage business offering the full suite of ICG products to its clients.
  • The role requires supporting the CCB regional Finance Lead on regular deliverables as well as business initiatives on productivity, expense management and business growth
  • The role will work in close partnership with EMEA ICG FP&A team and Mumbai CSC to meet FP&A deliverables, as well as Global CCB Finance partners
  • The financial structure of the business in EMEA is as follows:
    • Commercial ICG reflects the asset business (exposures + revenues + CoC) along with housing all direct expenses and headcount and incoming charge-ins/outs from various support functions.
    • In addition, CCB takes a client view of financials for CCB clients
Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting: Supporting client reporting requirements for countries, segments, and industries by leveraging Performance Management Toolkit
  • Forward looking and Performance Measurement: Analyse key movements and trends in Business P&L, Balance Sheet, efficiency and return metrics. Support the forward-looking deliverables on Outlook and Plan by working closely with business management, country business analysts and Mumbai finance teams
  • Supporting CCAR related deliverables: Update changes to forecast Model used for CCAR and coordinate with Transformation, Global CCAR, Regional finance and risk teams on a regular basis
  • Working with Business and Finance teams to understand and improve business efficiency and returns, particularly Operating Efficiency, RoA, and RoTCE
  • Analysis of key macroeconomic and business drivers and preparation of presentation materials for any internal or external meetings
  • Supporting key projects on standardisation and process improvement including GRA, Cost factors and coverage allocations for CCB
