An exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join a growing team within a top Financial Services business, located 5-10 minuets away from Moorgate Station in a Permanent role.

The client has built a bespoke strategic platform for Financial Markets Risk and Valuations. It is also the central data repository for all Financial Markets transactions providing information for regulatory and non-regulatory reporting purposes.

The current investments into the platform sponsor the following objectives:
  • Meet regulatory objectives such as the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB), the transition from IBOR to Risk Free Rates and multiple regulatory transaction reporting changes (SFTR, SEC, CFTC and EMIR re-writes)
  • Build the core trade Booking and Life-cycling functionality as part of the FM re-platforming initiative, aiming at migrating all Transaction Processing onto the strategic in-house platform

The main purpose of this Business Analyst role is to support Risk and Finance Adoption by establishing Controls, processes, remediations and enhancements to support Accuracy, Completeness and Timeliness of Risk generation and Risk Reporting infrastructure. The role sits in CIBITO (Corporate and Institutional Banking, Information Technology, and Operations) Risk group and provides close interaction with the Risk Managers, Product and Valuation Control, ITO and Quant teams.

General Skills:
  • Experience working on a large-scale front to back implementation, preferably vendor plus in-house applications
  • Ability to accurately translate and document business needs into functional requirements and produce high quality documentation
  • Financial knowledge encompassing products (flow, options, structured, bonds), pricing models, VaR, PNL Attributions, Limits and Trade life cycle. Strong technical acumen and Knowledge of Murex or similar systems.
  • Experience working in a Financial Markets Technology. Ability to work, prioritise and deliver under agreed timelines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with an excellent standard of English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work proactively, independently and displays strong initiative taking attitude
  • Pragmatic team player with good attention to detail
  • Well versed with Confluence, JIRA, Agile practices and SQL

Technical Knowledge
  • Good understanding of the FO to BO trade flow of financial products, including Middle Office, Operations and Finance activities
  • Product knowledge across asset classes encompassing product & trade life cycle
  • Good understanding of key technology concepts, Query languages like SQL and Spark SQL, basics in logical/physical data models, python functional programming, and architecture is a plus.

Preferred Domain Knowledge
  • Previous relevant experience in full end to end financial markets IT project delivery life cycle

£56K - £85K, 2 days a week WFH.
