LHH are currently partnered with a commercial property company that develops and manages shopping malls across the UK, Europe and globally. They are looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant on an interim basis of 3-4 months. This contract is also outside IR35.

Purpose

As their Financial Accountant you will maintain and analyse company accounting records and overall responsibility for all accounting outputs with regards to the Services Companies in France and Spain, including correct allocation of costs and recharges as well as income fees.

Finalise statutory accounts for all entities in the region and related approval process and ensure timely finalisation of any fiscal fulfilment's.

Day to day management of the relationship with the auditors and liaise with the European teams for requests coming from corporate auditors and US tax advisors.

Key Accountabilities

  • The Financial Accountant will maintain the financial records of the Groups Service Companies in France and This will include, accounting for all fees and recharge income, fixed assets and depreciation, payroll related journals and profit sharing accruals.
  • Treasury related matters of Groups Service Companies in France and Spain, such as payment or co-ordination of salary payments, bank recs for all relevant bank accounts, cash balance reporting for all relevant bank
  • You will have overall responsibility for all accounting outputs with regards to the Services Co entities under management, and collaborating with the Corporate Service Co and Reporting Team to ensure that all relevant monthly reporting is appropriately commented on and appropriately presented, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate accounting
  • You will oversee the allocation process including the allocation of payroll, as well as the allocation of other portfolio wide And provide guidance and support to various departments in issuing purchase orders correctly in the Service companies.
  • Play an important role in the budget preparation of the Spanish and French management company budgets, including liaison with the various departmental
  • The Financial Accountant will prepare all the statutory financial statements and all related documentation for the Spanish and French entities within the Group, including liaison with various auditors and Ensure all filing is done in a timely manner.
  • Act as the main interface between the General / Centre Manager and the Finance team to facilitate the flow of information and review operational activities and feed back observations to operational / project management teams.
  • You'll coordinate the relevant entities annual audits, liaising with external auditors and lawyers, and provide all necessary support to the Finance management team for corporate auditors requests, inclusive of ensuring the quality of data provided to them.

  • Liaise with external tax advisors to manage the preparation of tax returns and VAT fulfilment for the France and Spain entities within the
  • Ensuring all VAT and fiscal compliance responsibilities are adhered to in France and Spain, also liaising with the external
  • Maintain any fiscal and statutory book/filing.
  • Provide adhoc advice relating to accounting and tax matters, providing advisory support to other members of France and Spain finance and coordinating group accounting policies. Maintain a close relationship with the Managing Director and Senior Commercial Finance Manager of the Region, providing insight and business partnering where

Requirements
  • Qualified accountant with proven post qualification experience.
  • IFRS, Spanish GAAP and French GAAP knowledge.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish. Also fluent in French would be ideal.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts for SME companies in Spain & France.
  • Experience in fiscal matters as well as in audit activities.
  • Experienced in using various accounting systems.
  • Excellent technical accounting skills, but with good commercial exposure.
  • IT Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Word and Outlook; Advanced Excel.
