Contract: Outside IR35, 6 months contract with possible extension, £650/day

My client who is a leading investment group is looking for a Project Manager in the technology and data to deliver organisation-wide IT projects and system enhancements; using relevant technologies and ensuring appropriate company IT standards and policies are adhered to.

The role will cover all aspects of a technology project lifecycle - for example, project scope definition, resources/ budget/ delivery schedule planning, user requirements definition, solution, and supplier selection (incl. bespoke development work), overseeing development/implementation and production rrollout, and so on.

Ultimately, the Senior Project Manager will manage and lead projects that deliver technology and data change (including their respective implementation activities) that meet the IT and Business needs of the organisation.

Core Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Project Governance
  • Collaborate with senior management in IT portfolio planning, project prioritisation and project
  • business case development.
  • Engage with teams across their group to produce roadmaps for technology change and solution implementation.
  • Organise and facilitate relevant project governance, working group and team meetings.
  • Provide project governance bodies and project sponsors/stakeholders with timely project updates
  • on a regular (or as needed) basis; covering, for example, progress against milestones (time/budget), stakeholder decisions required, major issues/risks (and related impact and resolutions), and so on.


Experience
  • Solid experience in relevant project management and solution delivery (8+ yrs) - in both software development and third-party, solution implementation (essential)
  • Experience of delivering multiple, complex projects, across multiple entities and geographies (essential).
  • Experience of full lifecycle project delivery from demand to operational BAU handover (essential);
  • covering, for example, stakeholder management, project scoping and initiation, planning
  • resources/budget/delivery schedules, project delivery management, status reporting,
  • risk/issues/decision/change management, UAT, production deployment, BAU handover.
  • Experience of delivering data oriented projects, especially for business reporting (essential);
  • involving, for example, central database/data warehouse development, data
  • governance/management, data migration, source system integration, data analytics/reporting.
  • Experience of business analysis and requirements definition (essential).
  • Experience of delivering projects involving data migration and source system integration (highly
  • desirable).
  • Experience of delivering projects whose solutions use the Microsoft technology stack (eg. MS SQL
  • server; Power BI, etc) within Azure environments (highly desirable).
  • Experience of the Financial Services sector (preferable).
  • Demonstrable track record of consistent delivery and development of services and systems to
  • support business needs.


The company's in-office working policy is 2 days per week in office, with specific weekdays at discretion of manager. For contractors, some flexibility on this company policy may be possible on a case-by-case basis.
