As a Barclays XVA trader, you will be a member of the team responsible for managing the global XVA portfolio. This entails trading across FX, Rates, Equities and Credit products to efficiently manage the risks, pricing material/complex client activity and engaging in a wide variety of projects to expand the sophistication and efficiency of the business. The role is highly dynamic and responsibilities will change frequently, reflecting the fast-changing field of XVA.

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Actively trading across all asset classes using a variety of linear & non-linear products, with a focus on interest rate risk management
• Devising optimal hedging and pricing strategies for the portfolio, including identifying and hedging tail risks
• Pricing XVA impact on client activity across all asset classes/trade types, working closely with Sales/Trading/Banking stakeholders to ensure seamless deal execution
• Analysing client activity, studying global market dynamics, staying abreast of cutting-edge XVA developments
• Collaborating with Tech & Quant teams to continuously improve risk management tools, models and processes
• Liaising with Finance & Market Risk in producing/reconciling daily PnL & risk reporting
• Engaging with junior talent in the firm, including coaching/managing junior members of the team, helping foster a collegiate environment on the desk

What we're looking for:
• Undergraduate or equivalent degree, ideally in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics or similar
• Trading/Portfolio Management experience, preferably with track record in rates/options/XVA space
• Excellent technology skills, e.g. advanced Excel and sound programming aptitude/experience, Python preferred
• An entrepreneurial approach, with a growth mindset and the passion to help further build a best-in-class business

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
