Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and has significant impact across the lifecycle of a Trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a Client relationship group dedicated to overseeing the group service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first class experience when doing business with Citi.
Our Digitization and Implementation group works alongside our Operations teams delivering automation solutions to solve for operational challenges.
We partner with Citi's innovation labs to drive optimization and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model.
Our Technology groups develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations, Change, Design and Implementation groups in providing innovative products and solutions. We have re-imagined how to provide technology and service in our domain through the alignment of our team vision, culture, and aggressive retirement plan for legacy applications and adoption of a microbased containerized cloud environment. Team/Function Overview:
The Commodities business transacts high volumes across multiple markets including Oil, Precious Metals, Base Metals, Softs, Power, Freight, Gas & Emissions. The Commodities Settlements team is responsible for the timely settlement of all OTC commodities transactions, as well certain reconciliation functions in support of our exchange traded business, while the Commodities Confirmation team is primarily responsible for the drafting and execution of contracts in support of the commodities business. These functions invariably involve liaising with a wide range of stakeholders such as Trading and Sales desk heads, Financial/Product Control, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Technology and other Operations teams.
Role / Position Overview:
The position is to run the Settlements team in Belfast within the Commodities Operations organization. As a successful candidate, you will be based in Belfast. You will support the daily workflow activities/tasks of the team, get involved in planning and organizational design, focus on people skills development, problem analysis and resolution, quality control and key metric reporting. Acting as the primary point of escalation for these functions you will interact significantly with leaders of our internal partners and directly with our external client base.

Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the settlement functions of OTC Commodities transactions across the full range of commodity product groups, maintaining a culture and environment where processes, risks and controls are continually monitored, and potential risks escalated on a timely basis.
- Working closely with Trading, Sales, Middle Office, Technology and global counterparts to continually solve problems, drive change for the
- department and create efficiencies.
- Coaching and mentoring our people, ensuring effective one to one discussions and providing direction, feedback, support, and encouragement for career development
- Championing diversity and inclusion to create a working environment which allows our people to thrive and excel
- Developing a technical understanding of supporting applications and architecture, identifying opportunities for improvement and helping to design strategic solutions
- Coordinating and performing UAT (User Acceptance Testing) as necessary to ensure the smooth rollout of system changes
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
- BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Experience delivering strategic change programs spanning multiple years in a fast paced firm, ideally in an operations organization
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively add product impact to both strategic and tactical technology
- Strong, influential communicator who is articulate and concise, demonstrated success interacting with senior management
