About this role

Business Unit Overview:

BlackRock Alternatives is entering the next phase of exciting growth, and BlackRock Alternatives Specialists (BAS) will be at the forefront of fundraising across all alternatives products and strategies. As an Associate in the BAS Business Management Team, the candidate will work closely with internal sales teams, both BAS and Client Business, as well as many of the BlackRock Alternatives platform functions across a variety of roles. Key touchpoints of this role will be Marketing, Product, Financials & Analytics, HR and associated Business Management tasks to ensure BAS is performing as effectively and efficiently as possible. The candidate will report to the Head of BAS Business Management and will be regularly interacting directly with the Head of Global BAS and the respective BAS Regional Leads. This is a unique and differentiated role that is flexible in nature, but gives ample exposure to many different teams internally and a chance to develop new skills and attributes. Note - the responsibilities outlined below will be covered by 2 new joiners at the Associate Level.

Responsibilities:
  • Driving strategic projects and initiatives to support the BAS team in the fundraise journey
  • Supporting Head of Global BAS with deliverables, including messaging for senior management, coordination of multi-team projects and preparation of select internal presentations and memos
  • Owning key periodic firmwide initiatives, such as fundraising budget and forecast
  • Managing and tracking business set objectives over the cycle
  • Day to day management of financial progress and liaison for FP&A partners
  • Partnering across distribution (BlackRock Alternatives Specialists (BAS) & Product Strategy, and Partner functions) to execute on campaign fundraising plans and sales activity
  • Assisting with operational matters (e.g. Audit, Technology, Risk) and creating sustainable and/or automated processes to further advance the team
  • Liaising with HR & Recruitment teams to progress BAS talent agenda
  • Liaising with Alts Marketing and Alts Product to deliver on key initiatives


Skills & Experience:
  • 3-5 years experience in professional services, with preference in sales, sales management or business management function
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple processes at once with multiple stakeholders, and comfortable with leading and managing projects/workstreams
  • Understanding of investment sales cycles and sales processes
  • Analytical acumen and comfortable synthesising large data sets into clear and digestible key points
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable with presenting findings to all management levels
  • Team player that is comfortable flexing to different projects and needs as the business requires
  • Quick learner with 'can do' attitude
  • Fluent in English
