About the team
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team in Belfast as part of Citi's Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) business. The team support the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) TTS team with centralized guidance, reporting, development, and enhancement of procedures, monitoring of controls and maintenance of standards. The role reports to the Belfast TTS Manager who is also based in Belfast. This position will be at Assistant Vice President level.

There is a lot of interest and buy-in to the success of this team across TTS so the potential for growth of this team and the subsequent opportunities for career development are excellent.

About the role
The role includes the following responsibilities and will grow into other areas over time, as you gain confidence and experience.
  • Support the EMEA countries and products to manage their Manager's Control Assessment (MCA), including system inputs, advice & guidance and data analysis
  • Carry out testing of controls in place across the TTS businesses in EMEA to ensure risks are sufficiently mitigated in line with documented processes
  • Create and maintain a SharePoint site that can be used across the TTS products to access guidance, processes, templates, reporting etc, aiming to increase self-service access for the EMEA teams
  • Analyse large data sets in excel to generate regular and ad-hoc reporting, identifying key trends and messages to support the TTS products with their day-to-day management.
  • Display data in an easily understood format, mainly in MS PowerPoint
  • Project management of initiatives as required
  • Present your findings / messages to the relevant forums.
  • Look for ways to improve existing processes, create efficiencies and automate processes where possible
  • Conduct how to / training sessions as required to support the TTS businesses to carry out the required Risk and Control processes
  • There is potential for this role to grow into people management as well, for the right candidate.
About the individual
You do not need to be an expert in the processes or systems that we will be supporting with as full training will be provided. We are looking for an individual with prior experience in a risk and control function, who understands Risk Management even though it may be in a different industry.
  • Relevant professional experience in a risk and control role
  • Strong MS Excel skills - confident with pivot tables, creating charts and graphs, formulae like v-lookups, conditional formatting etc. Experience using Power BI or similar tools would be advantageous but not essential
  • Strong MS PowerPoint skills - able to take the data you have analysed and present it in a clear and concise way in PP.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - able to explain complex processes in a way that is easily understood and build great relationships with our stakeholders
  • Able to organise yourself, managing multiple processes simultaneously and balancing the requirements of different stakeholders. You will have the autonomy to manage your own priorities and conflicts and so need to be confident in your ability to do this.
  • Problem solving skills - not just the ability to analyse data and information to identify the problem but also coming up with creative and sustainable ways to fix the problem and where possible, enhance the solution
  • People Management experience - preferred but not essential. You will support the junior team members with training, guidance and support with the potential for people management in the future
  • Positive attitude - these first roles in the team will establish the team's success and set the tone for future recruits. Therefore, it is really important that you can demonstrate your ability to positively influence the culture of a team and be involved in more than just the day to day tasks, to help create a team that we all enjoy and want to grow in.
