Job purpose as Trade Finance Manager
  • To deliver the Trade Business Strategy with the Corporate and Institutional Banking Group (which is principally with corporate clients).
  • To assist in delivering budget for Corporate and Institutional Banking profit centre.
  • To develop new Trade Business opportunities and to manage the trade portfolio.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities as Trade Finance Manager
  • Support of Treasury Group; contribute to budget preparation and delivery.
  • Trade documentation and Risk, Business Development , Drafting of Credit Submissions and, Budget, Specifically :
  • Purchase of trade risks according to credit policy
  • Monitoring exposures for compliance with credit limits
  • Ensuring all business transacted falls within regulatory constraints (FCA, CBK, sanctions, KYC etc): reviewing facility documentation
  • Support of Corporate & Institutional Banking Group


Essential Experience Required
  • Experience in executing Trade Finance business/capability successfully to Corporate and Institutional clients/prospects.
  • Structuring and documenting the new business proposal
  • Strong support and guidance for the Bank's Trade Finance Operations team
  • Expertise in Trade Finance and Treasury Operations
  • Experience in drafting credit applications
  • Thorough understanding of trade products
  • Documentation
  • Understanding of trade risk
  • Excellent interpersonal skills


Desirable Experience
  • Trade finance origination experience
  • Institutional banking experience
  • Trade finance origination marketing skills
