Please note: This role is available in the Leeds, Edinburgh and London.
- Leadership - develop, champion and implement a clear and effective strategy for improving culture and conduct across CFD firms. Key areas of focus are likely to include how firms manage conflicts of interest, embedding the new Consumer Duty, financial resilience, and controls over client assets and market abuse.
- Assertive supervision -set clear expectations and exert positive influence, often in delicate and contentious situations. And, where necessary, boldly use the full range of regulatory tools to deal with problem firms, protect consumers and uphold market integrity.
- People- line management of a diverse team, managing their performance and supporting their development.
- Departmental management- contribute to the leadership and smooth running of the wider department, and helping to create a culture with a clear vision, where staff feel supported and valued, with a learning mindset.
Skills Required
Minimum
- Experience of financial services and regulation
- Experience motivating and leading a team to deliver on key priorities
- Excellent written communication skills
Essential
- Excellent oral communication skills
- The ability to make complex, outcomes-focused judgements led by available data and evidence
- The ability to manage and influence stakeholders, both internal and external
- The ability to manage a wide range of issues effectively via effective prioritisation and efficient use of resources.
- The ability to create a working environment in which staff flourish
Desirable
- Experience/knowledge of CFDs and/or CFD-like products
- Experience of firm supervision and the FCA's supervisory framework
